Probably cause you said what you said.
If that's not saying a load should always remain secured through an accident i don't know what is.
This is why you put more than 2 chains on a coil

And for a 50k could I'm throwing a min of 10 chains anchored as far spread out as possible -
Coil load like that would be getting at the vey least 3 chains, off the trailer allowed for j hooks, then each cool would have 2 straps over the top.

Edit to add: assuming you arent using some cheap Chinese dog chain, thats literally more than double the required securement on a coil loaded suicide. -
I would agree with some of that.
Simple physics though, the idea is to prevent an object from gaining momentum. With enough securement you can prevent an item from shifting.
I've seen shotgun coils with just over 50% of their weight securement not even move on the deck because a driver used a properly secured deadman/trip block on it.
Securement is all in the methods in which you employ to prevent the movements
