10 chains of grade 70 5/16 chain is 47,000lbs of securement. If a driver secures for 100% of the weight, then 10 chains it is.
In the case above of 4 coils at 12000lbs per coil, I wouldve done 3 chains maybe 4 each. Unless the trailer allowed for j hooks, then it wouldve been 3 chains and a strap or two over the top. Just my preference

Got stuck in that mess. Flatbed left roadway jerked wheel back drive through guard rail Jack knifed. Then the two cane together. Roads werent even bad at this point.

Also, are you willing to tell me the company you drive for so that I can avoid being near any of those trucks at any given time? I'd rather not be around you in case your 2 chains on a 12k coil snap.
