    Ok, well, here's my thoughts
    Business........define business.
    Here's how I define business.
    I have a third party entity that:
    1. Does my receivables with no pushback. What I run is what I'm paid. They don't get their money, not my problem; I got mine.
    2. All IFTA and fuel taxes calculated and paid
    3. Trailers.....all theirs and free
    4. Fuel discounts
    5. Record keeping. My CPA only needed to see the breakdown from Schneider to do my taxes.
    6. Customer Service. I talk to no one.
    7. Insurance. When I ran it was $135 a week all in including workman's comp, (How about you?).
    8. Log / HOS compliance.
    9. Facility parking. I know that sounds kinda thin, but it comes in real handy in Atlanta and Dallas
    10. Has access to thousands of loads based on THEIR reputation
    11. I argue / negotiate with no one. The rate is what it is. Like it? Fine. Don't like it? Move on.

    And there's more.
    So, I define my business as I do the work, someone else does everything else and supplies the DOT legal trailers (at 35%). That's my "Business Model".
    And, undoubtedly, yours is superior, however it worked for me and has worked for thousands in the past.

    I did it for 8+ years and was very successful and happy. Dude got his feelings hurt because the world didn't spin the way he wanted it to. Nothing new there.

    As far as, "couldn't get a load, had to take crappy freight", so sorry that you're stupid. Would you feel the same for some DA in North Dakota at a truckstop that took $2.75 a mile to get there and now can't find ANYTHING to get out. Once again, I'm sorry you're (he's) stupid, but it doesn't make Schneider evil or wrong.......it just means that you're stupid.

    Your doing well and seem happy. You are succeeding. Probably a good deal to look into. My point was, you are an employee of Schneider which is performing the business of interstate commerce. The law is cracking down. I believe being leased on can be great, but the leased on is not in business. Not even legally allowed to perform interstate commerce without the parent. The only decision is yes you can take the load or no. If you pick it’s what they decide it pays. There is no business discussion on pricing, service, etc… I bet you had no input in your contract? Terms, pricing? Was it all one sided? No business, it’s really a employee agreement no matter what Schneider calls it. That is why the lawmakers are cracking down. Misclassification of worker. I know you don’t agree, it’s ok, I don’t agree, the laws are being enforced even if it takes time no matter or thoughts on here. Look at elogs hos and emissions. PS. I wish I paid less for insurance, but I got to pay if I want to play. Hope it goes down more next year than it did this year..

    Debatable. Wouldn’t mind hearing both sides of that one.

    could be compared to a guy leased onto landstar and hiring drivers to pull for him.

    That's why even leasing you are in business.

    The fundamental difference between an employee and a business is the ability to grow. A lease is not limited to one truck a lease operator can lease additional trucks and grow thier business.
