What it looks like when you hit something you can’t see on the road. The sound scared the crap out of me. Sad to get rid of steers that were in great shape.

Time for a new one box. Regen’s fine, but NoX efficiency gets worse as it heats up. 600k on the current box. Sad to see it go. I found a good used one from my regular heavy duty mechanic. He’s giving me a 6 month warranty. That should be long enough for me to finally get off my butt and go buy a new to me truck.

The parts I carry because other people suck and I just want to do my job without waiting for someone else to show up.

I thought LS had some rough trailers…I’ve been pulling a shippers trailers and dang it can be interesting.

Hope it’s in good shape. Can you get it run through a cleaning process before you install?

I try to Get the DPF and SCR unit run through a clean and refurbished every other year. $1100 round trip.

The SCR is failing. Can’t be cleaned again. Just a waste of money.

The used one is $2500 and just about includes everything. The truck it came from was DOA from an accident. It was cared for by the same mechanic. It was known good a month or so before…

    oh well we’ll see.

After a lot of looking for a new for me truck, I finally came to the conclusion that I’d rather have mine.

So it’s in frame and update time. I figure after 7 straight years of running pretty hard I decided to take a month off and get this done. Over 1 million on my truck and it’s still nicer than many 2022-23’s I looked at. Hopefully Wednesday will be the break in. Also swapping out the one box this week as well, and then we’re swapping in a 13 speed. Everything else is in great shape. Gotta find an overhaul kit for my APU, it’s got 14k hours on it.

You'll like that 13 speed....once you learn how to use it

Great report. An example of what just getting out there and doing it results in. Hats off, guys...
I will say again... "It loses it's glamor, once you prove to them you can do it."

No idea with a 13 speed. I will be asking questions. My truck is geared so low with the 10 speed I feel like 64mph is winding it out.

    Dale thompson Thanks this.
