No sir. I wanted them for those days when you really need them. Better safe than sorry.

FLHT and Dale thompson Thank this.

    Which reminds me.

Does anyone have experience with automatic chains? I know they’re pricey, but for those occasions when the chain lights go on and you know it’s only over the summit or something it seems like it be a decent thing. I’ve got zero experience with them.

    Dale thompson Thanks this.

Never have used them. Do see them on school buses around here. Also noted them on some of the LTL’s.
You definitely have to be moving for them to work.

School buses have them around here. Been seeing more out there on local and delivery trucks.

Was starting to look at them myself. Became a "next truck" thing for me. Looked ideal for the situation you describe. overriding question for me was: Would I use them enough to justify the cost and added weight? That question is dependent on where you tend to run in the winter.

Ended up going with Auto Socks for a quicky to get out of Iced over truck stops, lots, and such. Still carried real chains for the longer runs or the ones where the blacktop is dry but 5 miles up there is a dusting, and next chain removal place is 40 miles up.

Still have the socks on the shelf. They're used, but free to a good home.

I’ll buy them from you. I could pick them up and buy you some Gee Cee’s for dinner, or pay you for them + shipping to my house.

If you are going to drive down.... How interested are you in the load locks, Load Bars, and a couple of milk crates of e-track straps?

I'll dig out the stuff tomorrow and send you some photos.

No problem holding for a bit. Stashed them years ago. You are just the excuse to dig that stuff out.
