The problem one of the companies will have is not on the office side.
It is basically caused by the driving habits of their drivers. Unfortunately for them, they still have the same drivers in the spin off and it will catch up to them.
thought CSA was gonna clean up?

But if they have drivers with bad habits then they will likely be flagged even before the audit arrives. -
I've got a question...How are they keeping track of drivers? State license number or SSN?
-
The old operation is there for the files that were there and the new operation will be in another part of the building.
I really wonder if they will be successful in pulling it off. The safety director says it is the only way to stay in business. -
What CSA ain't gonna change nothing? Say it ain't so!

otherhalftw Thanks this.

The only way that this really works is if they are truely trying to clean up the operation. And would have to show that they have a new ownership and mngt structure. If it is just a swapping of DOT #'s to avoid suspension then they will be in worse shape than if they had tried to fix it under the old DOT #.
Now that is how it is designed to work. I know if you do this in the Chicago area many get away with it. But try it down in Central IL and you will get wacked.
Surpirsed we don't see ads in the magazines to repair your CSA score like credit repair. -
They will not be using the same driver files.
They are starting it as a new business and moving the drivers over slowly.
I think they might have found a loophole in the CSA. Sad to see, but it could be a start for all of the companies.
I handled all of the DOT stuff for a construction company in central illinois and this is not a surprise to me. -
And what you are describing sounds like this is more of a shell game than a clean-up. And the first driver to get put OOS will bring FMSCA knocking and not some state auditor. -
The CSA is more against the drivers than the companies.otherhalftw Thanks this.
