Not bad. I look at it as a "well gotta do what you gotta do" type of thing and just make the best of it

I hear ya. We have very similar situations. My part of the woods doesn't pay that well and hours aren't there. I've been local for 2 years but it just a dead end job. No way to advance and no raises. If i work here forever.. I'll make the same money as the day I started.
I've found a nice little mom and pop company that takes pride in 5 out and 2 home with holidays off. I'll miss my family and nightly tv but I really don't have a lavish night life during the week anyways.
Anywho.. I'm cluttering up your thread. I just wanted to see how well you adjusted back to "regional" life after having your rear end planted at the house daily for a couple years.

If you willing to work and stop being a pain in ### of a driver. You will be successful everywhere.

I was so worn out while I worked local that I didn't enjoy any of my nights home. So it just left the weekends, it was a easy choice for me as I basically dropped pay by $500 a week for nothing

Just want to say, I have worked for JB Hunt between 2004 and 2010 in Portland Oregon and Stockton California various times. I worked the intermodal side and because I am also a hard worker who gets in and gets things done, I made good money. So glad to see someone else have a good experience. I hate hearing people bash JBH and then see how they really worked. (Most of them are lazy)

I have zero firsthand knowledge of JB, but it seems like the intermodel and DCS folks are generally fairly happy. How's the insurance with JB? Decent benefits at a fair price? Just curious as health insurance is a HUGE issue these days.

True company colors usually take a while to see. The true test sill be after being there a while

Health insurance was great. But I'm a single female with no issues. I get migraines and that's about it.
