If you’re running new equipment why would you keep it much past 3 years when the depreciation is up? And like I said, my old truck is still hauling milk everyday and they put the lift axle back on it. It had right at 600k when I sold it to them in January of 2022. According to the experts here that motor should’ve windowed the block long before I even sold it.
I’ve seen those Cummins go 800k before they self destruct but with them it’s not a matter of if but when Like I said it’s your truck drive it as you wish makes no matter to me drive it till it’s depreciated out is a good business move each has their own reasoning I don’t care because I and not looking to buy it when your done with it I use a different approach myself there is no right or wrong to either of our reasoning
Have you seen the one that blew rods so bad that I think the head was all that was keeping it one piece?
I’ve seen that one I like the one where there is a blood trail and a pile of Shrap Metal about 400 yards behind the trailer and there’s a hole on the left side of the block big enough to stick your head in but she’s still ticking
I once worked with a truck that did something similar. Bossman met new driver on his first day and told him fluids were good. Truck was already running. Turns out one of the fluids was missing.
