What one brake chamber getting fixed on the side of the road runs buys you all 6 of them, a case of beer, and something to eat after you're done.

Seriously? Did you have to take the hood off to put it on?

Dealer tech. Told him i was too expensive and gave him 4 or 5 numbers for local indy guys. No one would answer their phone. Calls me back, needs it fixed (fleet)
150$ hr. Minimum 3hrs at time and a half.
    1.50$ a km.

Also happened when belts were on reserve, had to pull one off a new truck.
Actual belt change was about 2 minutes. Mostly cause i dropped my wrench

Goodysnap, spsauerland and swaan Thank this.

Drums are either good or bad, Some last 2 brake jobs, depends on the shoes. The More metallic the material the more the drums wear. Drums are so cheap now, might as well use hard shoes and replace drums if needed. I always get 2 brake jobs out of my drums, Although I’ve also had just a couple wear bad and the other 2 be fine. Must have been Chinese or bad metal. Didn’t make sense at all

The 2013 had the maxis changed out preventatively after 4 years, the drums and shoes were original on the drives when it left late last fall, 460k on it.

We had some trailers bought used with mismatched parts, from what I was told, heavy duty shoes and standard cam, and the two drums broke on one side. I believe maybe when one went, pieces of that broke the other, but I remember seeing at least one piece fly out in the passenger side mirror.

Some of those trailers sounded like they were hammering the brakes stopping empty, I still had a Columbia at that time, the pedal brake valve in the Cascadia is the smoothest I've ever used. Even though it sounded like a goose being stepped on at times. Quiet truck.
