There’s one west of the sapp bros in SLC about a mile or two on California Ave. About 10 trucks can park in it overnight. Truck Fuel island, CAT scale. No showers. I would go there before I went and pickup my trailers from Reddaway. Clean place.

Good lord, Sapp is still in business? Last time I was at one of their stops (1990-ish), it looked like they were just about to fail....

It’s still there but good luck finding parking there unless it’s the middle of the day. It’s filled up mostly by local drivers by late afternoon.

That one sucks. The one in Clearfield, PA and Peru, IL is okay.

Fueled at the one in Pocatello, ID, a penny above the NASTC price at the two stations around Twin Falls. With he 2% CC kickback, I’m ahead.

Been a long time since we’ve had a reasonable option for fuel.

The one in Percival,IA is okay-provided that the nearby Missouri River doesn’t overflow its banks and knocks it out of commission!

I just noticed they started building one in Baker, OR, an exit west of the new Loves. Going to keep my eye on that one, it’ll be nice to have a good fuel option in Eastern Oregon.

Also, Maverick’s “nitro” card gives an additional $0.10 off. It works like a debit card and drafts directly from your checking account.

Doubt if Sapps is going anywhere, they look run down, they don't have the best prices, but they do a lot of business at all locations.

That Sapp's in SLC you need to reserve parking in the middle of the day for that night, and you must call ahead, no app to use, they'll put your name in a book along with your tractor number and phone number, sometimes they'll pre-assign you a spot. Security isn't playing either, in 2022 I was running to SLC twice a week from Denver for 3 months, some nights I'd park at the Flying J, some nights at Sapps. Rolled in one night, they told me space #15, swung around, there's a truck parked there, engine off hood cold. Security pounded on the door, driver didn't answer, they called a HD wrecker to move it out, gave me a different spot. Two weeks later I come back through, they assigned me a spot, truck parked there idling, I asked the driver to move, he flipped me off. Security came out, gave the guy five minutes to move or they were calling a tow, he said he was out of hours, the security guy laughed and said that makes the tow drivers job even easier. The guy rolled his window up, security was on the phone for the wrecker, when it showed up 15 minutes later, it was amazing how that driver found the hours to leave. Whereas, security at Flying J, you were lucky if they even came to work, one night the female manager had to go out and tell drivers to move.

Few years back made a couple trips to Jerome, ID, I have a Mastercard and a Love's card, so I can fuel anywhere, we noticed the Maverik of 15/84 in Elwood was $.30 cents cheaper than anyplace else so we stopped and fueled there, kind of a pain to get into. Some of the newer Maveriks are adding parking for 4 or 5 trucks if they have room, but some of them are also strictly enforcing a no idle policy if the local community requires it.
