Truck Stop Directory. Most of the bottom feeders are going to cram into the Loves and Peelots and FishHooks and the TA. The mom and pop joints will have parking til midnight. OR go to the next weigh station. Had a breakdown on that loop around DC and got into the Maryland scale at 10pm and the DOT didn't hassle me. Parked on a wide section of onramp and called it a night. Point is, even when things don't go according to plan, there's always an alternative. When you were sitting in traffic, you should have been making new plans. I agree, you are a poor planner.

If those spots weren't "pay to reserve" then they would be full too and you wouldn't have any place to park at all. TA in Baltimore charges for every single spot. What's the big deal?

The overwhelming majority of your OSOW guys are professional. Yes, you have some who think it is some sort of sin to take a shower more than twice a month, and yes you may meet one with a pocket full of dimes ready to be dropped. But for the most part, most of them I have met in truckstops have been really good people. You pull into a truckstop with a load that's too big to fit in one space, you look for another OD load to park next to and share 3 spots instead of 4. If you're bobtail, you double up. I have moved out of a parking spot to allow a multi axle to pull through. Then again, I have had other trucks move to allow my crew to pull in and park back when I pulled blades.

Speaking of blades, multiaxles, and other big loads. I have asked other drivers who may have parked in a corner if I could pull my long load in front of them and park along the curb. I'm not going to just assume that I can block another driver in because I need that spot, I will ask. Give respect, GET RESPECT. That's how it works.

They see you when you pull into the truckstop...all the flashing lights, the flags and the banners. Don't be a Hole. We have enough difficulty out here already. Being a Hole only makes it worse.

Well it's sad when you ask one of the guys with the same company if he would move to a different spot. He was parked along the end in a spot and I asked if he would move to a spot in the middle row and I could park my long multi axle on the end.
His reply, I'm parked and not moving. He sees the ld. and just did'nt give a ####...
So across the road I go and shoe horn my way into a spot and had to really work my way out in the morning..

Bet he had a wind sticker on his truck. Cant stand Blade Beeotches. Years ago, I would have put this team up against any other, but since 09, things have been in the toilet. Thought about going to another team, but I see the same problems on every other team. That and they still throw money at me. I figure I will ride it out a little bit more and retire once again. Sure am glad that I drive my truck and not one of theirs...makes it worlds easier to stand apart.

Pulled a load out of Laredo to Davenport. Did a vampire run from north of Okie City to Davenport and emptied at 1000 Friday. Went to Walcott and caught a nap. They offer an OD load going 550 miles paying over $4/ mile, weekend drop, and weighed less than 25k. I took it, but it was a 200 mile bounce. I get there and get loaded. Was knocking against the 14 and so I dropped the trailer and bobtailed to the nearest truckstop.

I see a fleece truck pulling a skateboard sitting there. I went up and knocked on the door. This pretty driver comes up to the door. I ask him if he were loading at that place down the road. He said, "Yes." I told him that they were down there loading and that he could get loaded this afternoon and drop the load Saturday. He asked, "I can get loaded today?" YES! He then said something I've never heard another driver say (not even a woman)," Well, that's okay. I have to do my hair."

I give up. I think I want to go out like Bo Jackson. No announcements, no press conferences, just quietly retire. Sure am glad I'm not pretty.
