Ok so I have an older Galaxie radio that I started out with that has been peaked and tuned by a few shops it works okay. About a year ago I bought a used president lincoln 2 + and I really like how clean the radio sounds and the power it has from the factory but hate all the BS on the front.I am thinking of grabbing the Richard model it looks a lot simpler to operate any thoughts on this model?
Looks like a nice AM/FM 10 meter radio that basically has all the features of a CB radio. A big plus is a 40-50 watt (I assume PEP) radio that's DIN size. That would make for a very nice looking install in todays vehicles. Doesn't look too complicated to convert to 11 meters, just a little soldering involved. It seems to have great reviews from what I have read so far. If you buy one, don't let any tech do the so called peak and tune on it. You will probably be glad you passed up that offer in the long run.
That's the reasons I am looking at has deccint power out of the box a decluttered face plate and if it receives and transmits like the other one I have president I have it will be great. I agree my days of finding radio shops to do there magic are pretty much over every time I brought a radio to a new tech they alway bad mouth the previous tech and wants to rip everything out and start over there way.
I have a President Richard no complaints. It gets good audio reports if I can find someone that is running a radio and speaks English. The small chassis size is a plus if you have a cubby hole like a lot of modern trucks. The menus are straight forward and pretty much set and forget.
That’s why I bought this one to replace my 40 year old Galaxy Pluto. ANYTONE AT6666 PS; not user friendly until you get use to it, however you can’t beat the price for its performance.
I like the President Lincoln but it’s up high in its hole can’t see crap on the display hit one button by mistake and I have to wait until I pool over to figure out what I did wrong LOL. Anytime has some nice radios also .
I was trying to decide between a anytone 6666 and a stryker, my company won't let me hook up any amps so I wanted a high powered am radio and went with the Stryker 497 and a skip shooter on a bird perch. It talks skip pretty well barefoot and has a clean clear audio transmit and quiet receive .
