At least twice a month. Sometimes not that often and sometimes more. Husband has had to wait up to 18 hours for a swap driver and up to 9 hours because someone sent him the wrong pickup numbers. It seems as if it runs in cycles ....it all happens at once or not at all. I think it has quite a bit to do with who is running dispatch at night and on the weekends. A company driver can not refuse a load or dispatch so I do believe that they are stuck with these situations more often than the lease drivers. Two main problems that TransAm has 1. the disorganization of their office system. No coordination between day and night dispatch, total disconnect with planning, and an inability to get ahold of someone when you need them 2. the lack of pay for the times that you are stuck waiting. I think many of the problems are caused by the fact that some of these folks have never been in a truck and they have absolutely no concept of the fact that they are taking money out of the drivers pocket .....while they are sitting in the office still being paid. As I said before, TA is not all bad and not all good. They are inefficient and could be so much better if they would take care of the aforementioned issues. My husband was never pressured to lease a truck and did not have to wait very long to be put into his truck....I think it was over a weekend.

I should also add that certain times of the year you are going to have more "sitting and waiting" times than others. To be fair ....there are times that it is not the fault of the office(not very many times, but a few), things happen ...holidays, bad weather, you swap with a guy that is getting off for hometime. All part of it ....but you should be compensated for those situations.

twice as many leasing as going company? that is ---wayy--- out of whack, but my opinion is worth about as much as you paid for it... so you can do with it what you will but thats what i gather from hearing from transam drivers + drivers at truck stops and reading posts here.

even if theyre --just--- asking people if they want to become a lease operator, that in and of itself is pressuring let alone asking them many times...you dont get to half of a class going lease without some shenanigans, i dont know exactly how they operate, but to me it smells like rotten fish. having a large lease operation in and of itself is extremely shady in an otr outfit, anyone thats been around knows how that works..they have someone come in as a slave and feed them and they let you drive around their truck and paying for the fuel(letting you think it will eventually become yours) until you become suicidal or lose everything up to or including your family and then they let someone else lease it.

If you lease you will not make any money with them. If you be a company driver it is a alright company to work for. I drover for the a year and I quit because of the leaseing program.
