I love driving cross country but...(there's always a "but", isn't there?)
Once I get on the left coast, I'm still at least a week away from home.
Once I start driving again, it starts to feel like I'm driving on a treadmill, you know, on a treadmill, you run and run and run but you never get anywhere.
I got to take a least one day off (this time it's from Friday afternoon to Monday morning) and days off don't take me closer to home.
And I'm on road to make money, not spend it so I usually stay at the truck stop. (I did get a hotel room this week-end.)
It's not quite as bad as jet-lag but I still go by Eastern time. So I'm 3 hours ahead of the Sun and the people around me.
I miss Melinda and Eva-Mae. -
How long will you be out this time, Quebeker?

Depends where next load is going.
In a week if reload is going back East.
But more if I end up with a load from a greenhouse in BC going to the South East.
I will know tomorrow morning after I deliver. -
There's no doubt in my mind that there's a big hug (or two, or three, or four...) from a little girl awaiting you at home. Not to mention the smile you'll receive from your wife...
Just drive careful, okay? And thanks for keeping us posted on your travels. I really enjoy your photos! -

I never have an easy time getting back in Canada when I'm crossing in Surrey.
This past Monday was no exception.
I spent 6 hours at Customs.
Then a nice warm welcome.
I can't believe it's been already 12 years since I was living 15 minutes from here.
The scenery is just amazing.
Scale #2 in less than 20 kilometers.
They still drift wood on the Fraser.
The Port Mann Bridge on my way back to the border after my delivery.
There is a scale on the other side and it was open.
That was scale #3 in less than 30 kms and 3 hours.
At the border.
Cars have to wait twice as long as trucks today.
Nice change for once.
On the other side.
Scale #4 of the day.
It's all going downhill from here.
Artsy.
Sunrise in Montana with a cattle hauler.
Same sunrise but in Wyoming now.
Vastness of the West.
Ducks and Northernblue Thank this. -
You can be like me and spent 8 hours in one border crossing at customs and then go to another and spend more time there in the same day. The last crossing only took me 15 mintues start to finish.
