    Greetings all !!
    I am finally getting to be able to get online so I thought before I start talking, I would introduce myself. All together I have maybe 6 yrs on the road but 5 of them were back when I was a kid. I'm 50 now. Back then I dabbled in several things but mostly pulled intermodal. Got out for family reasons.
    The family is grown, the wife has her own career, so I'm back out here again.
    WOW HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED !!!!!!

    Went thru the CRST program and made it exactly 1 year to the day. Cant complain about it, but I wanted better wages. Also wanted a solo truck. Currently pulling for K&B refer out of siox city Ia. {Sorry for the spelling errors.}
    Hoping to start with your refer section and go from there.
    No clue about buying my own but there will be no lease truck in my future. Period. Read that section, or enough of it. Thanks for the advice.

    Anyway, As I said, I am new to K&B and just starting to get a handle on things, slowly.{3 weeks} Dispatch has been kind and forgiving. They have a minimum mile guarantee but I haven't needed it yet. Min is 2500 a week. Got 3200 first full week out. Dispatch keeps a very close eye on my hours and plans everything for me. Stops are within reach and they don't mind my 50 yr old bladder. A couple brief stops and nobody cares. They told me they like to micro manage things and at first I was leery. Was worried they would breath down my neck. Not the case. I get my load and as long as I make it, nobody says anything except "Good Job". Not a good job for a lazy person, but having been self employed most of my working life, I have no trouble with alarm clocks. Seems to be ample time given.

    Anyway, just thought I'd say hey to ya'll. Love the forum. Thanks for being here. No better place to learn than a forum. Old hands can coach new ones. Topics can be researched and archived. A person can learn when time allows. Just a great thing all around. Thanks for putting this one up.

    It's good to read a post from a mature person that takes the bull by the horns. You did what was necessary to get back on the road and didn't whine the whole time. Congratulations.

    Way to go on your new chapter! My almost 50 husband is about to begin a new adventure too. Empty nest leaves options wide open. Congrats!
