Yeah, ive gotten a speeding ticket without a radar once. He got splashed and was pissed off. Public saftey are ######## of a different breed though. Wrote my cousin a ticket for hauling a lawnmower in a chevy and told him he needed a cdl. He was dumb enough to pay it.

Seems there is some confusion, I was not slid all the way back. But thats about how he treated it. He didn't measure anything. I was 1 or 2 positions off I think. But it was dark, in the middle of nowhere and I was not about to argue with him. Just wanted to know what kinda baggage goes with payin the ticket. I already learned its not a moving violation. As for being tired, ive been sick the last 6 or 7 weeks and ive had no heat in the truck so i guess that hasnt helped me. I never get sick so I guess thats why this is whoopin my ###. On my way home in the next few hours though. But no, tandems were not all the way back.

Fair enough. Refer to post#40 then.

I carry a 300 ft tape (from my wind blade days). Before I signed a ticket, the tandems would have gotten measured. Good thing you knew what the speed limit was or you would have probably had a speeding ticket too.

A guy I know from Mississippi had a notoriously heavy foot when he was younger. He used to drive as fast as his Mustang would go through several small Mississippi towns on the way to work very early each morning. Some locals who observed him frequently complained to authorities so a local sheriff set up waiting for him one morning. He pulled him over, walked up to his window and said, "Boy, I've been waitin' on you!" The driver didn't miss a beat and replied, "I got here as fast as I could!"

Just need a 10 foot one. 7 feet from the end of the dot bumper is the 43 foot mark on our trailers. GA is 43 feet kingpin to center of rear axle.

We also have foot markings for 41 and 43 feet on most of our equipment, so it's not hard to see you're over

Quoting the supreme court cases that debunk their interpretation and saying "so if you want to write the ticket, fine, just know that it will be thrown out" is always handy too.

I’d fight it. For him to say it wasn’t 41 feet, he’d have to measure it and tell the court exactly how far back it is..

And driving that tired is as bad as driving drunk, don’t do it
