..so you felt the need to pass that ONE MORE CAR before cutting him off and mashing the brakes to hit the ramp? Pulling head-up-the-rectum stunts like that, you shouldn't have a CDL.
I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone who gets in a hurry to be the first one to the scene of a crash...especially if they wish to be considered a "professional driver". OP should consider himself lucky the ticket was the only immediate consequence, as it could have been far worse.

I've been thinking about this today.
Seems to me, to be able to make the case of "participation in a speed contest on a public road", the LEO would need to have observed BOTH parties traveling at a relatively high rate of speed while running alongside each other. I can't see that happening here.
I have a feeling this was a matter of overcharging, and is at worst "negligent driving".BUMBACLADWAR Thanks this. -

May be an entirely different perspective from the cop. Hell of it is there is so much that is totally subjective in enforcing a lot of the law. And if you get a cop who is a jerk, or is having a bad day or whatever, anything is possible.
I really do hope the OP will keep us in the loop here!
