That's all trucking companies. Your life outside if the truck is unimportant. Get back to work sucka! Doesn't even matter if they don't have the work and you spend 34+ hours at a truckstop far from home. That's trucking...

Take the "lemons" in life...& make lemonade: with all of the above prep & experience -- you are now qualified for a fuel-hauling job. The TWIC card helps out A LOT with many of those jobs.

Instead -- get a fuel job; better pay (in many cases).....& home daily.

Maybe, just MAYBE the fact that YOU couldnt look it up is why they decided against you MAYBE?

There are a lot of companies that seem like they should have their act together. Instead, it ends up being an operation made up of the only warm bodies who applied for the office positions. The result is a bunch of things never adding up, no logical answers from staff because it incriminates, another (potential, in this case) employee walking off, and a bunch of wasted money spent on the process. I’ve seen it at every place I’ve worked. As mentioned, look at fuel hauling. LTL would be a great option, as well.

I've never done a 34 at home. That would be a luxury. But my company never denies my request for home time, nor bothers me about when I'm coming back out. I'm usually out 3-4 was and home 5-7 days.

    mjd4277 and bryan21384 Thank this.

I didn't know computer searching was a part of a truck driver's skill set. Like I said I did look it up and couldn't find it. But you are missing the point.

Let me rephrase that. It was a 34 home not every week, but every 2-3 weeks. Most companies will give you one full day per week on the road, so this place gives less than that.

It isnt. And neither are telephones, GPS tracking, using cash instead of credit cards, fuel reward points, ect ect ect.

But those of us that know how to do these things have an easier life out there. But I dare say that it is YOU that is missing the point.

You couldnt find it? I goggled EXACTLY what you said you needed: respirator certification and found it in 3 seconds. And you couldnt find it? Like I said, maybe, just MAYBE their "requirements" changed because that one thing was beyond your capabilities...

I’ve been out of the liquid side for awhile but Tidewater never had a real good reputation amongst tank yankers. They may have done you a favor by not getting on with them. Have you considered the cryogenic side of tanking? Given your history you might be a good candidate for that.

mjd4277, ducnut and Lonesome Thank this.
