That may not be a bad idea, but I would suggest you seek out a contract carrier that uses the aluminum Lumatech beds. They haul better freight and you wont get stuck on a construction site somewhere.

The guys that drive the steel bodies working for construction companies often have to climb up inside the body and shovel it out. Sometimes slamming the tailgate isn't enough to knock the sticky stuff loose, especially in the wintertime. The material often freezes doesn't want to unload too easily. This tends to happen with common borrow, fill dirt and top soil.

One cold day when I was doing that I parked next to a Case 580 backhoe with the body up and proceeded to dig out the dirt. Before I got done mine about 8 or 10 other trucks lined up, so I had to do theirs too. No one else could run the backhoe.

I think dump trucking would be a good option for you if you just want to take it easy.

But, if you want to hold on to some of what you are doing now, may I suggest going to a crane company? At one of these you'd be hauling the parts for the cranes like counterweights and boom sections, and sometimes even the objects to be lifted. Although you'd be looking at all flatbed work, you'd be working hourly, and making more money than you would be driving a dump truck.

No more walking the high steel either.

Good Idiea There Mack...I have loaded many booms and pile driving equipment In my days...and do have contacts with those companys.
So that would meen I would be looking for a tractor and say a 45 foot flat bed...You think I would make better money at this than the dump truck ...tri axial??

I better soon look at getting my a/z
