Not a rookie, not going south for the winter, and also not chaining up.Lav-25 Thanks this.

But if you are traveling in CO you already have chains, so no big deal. Not sure why they don't just make it a state wide mandate and have done with it.TruckDriver87, buzzarddriver, PacoTaco and 2 others Thank this.

I think you mean hyena hemorrhoid!

I guess there are enough dumb people not carrying chains that they had to pass that law. The people too dumb to carry chains in Colorado probably won't pay attention to the new law anyways.mjd4277, Flat Earth Trucker, PacoTaco and 3 others Thank this.

Got mine and in CO currently and thankfully still good roads running across 70 since Im headed to Cedar City UT then back across after loaded. I do chain up when need be if I have a heavy load being I used to live in WA and a lot of local and regional companies wouldn’t hire you if you didn’t sling iron. Thing is nowadays there are so many non-english speaking idiots that can’t read signs and try to go without and ruin it for everyone that does comply with the chain laws to where sometimes it isn’t worth it cuz one will get stuck anyway due to the idiots spinning out and getting stuck or jack-knifed.
austinmike and Mnmover99 Thank this. -
Oh really now,, that is pushing it. It's not even Labor Day. If any place was a fixin' to hang iron, I'd know about it. Monarch Pass, 11,312ft, in my backyard, is one of the 1st places to require chains, and usually not until late Oct., of my recollection.

East of 25 they’re not needed. What would the point be in forcing someone coming out of the Midwest into NE Colorado with cattle to carry chains?Mnmover99 Thanks this.

There's a sign near Limon that says Chain-up Area. I thought chains weren't needed in the flat parts of the country and I don't think any of the hills out there are that steep. I've always wondered why.Long FLD Thanks this.

I would find my way onto some skinny roads if they’re making people chain up in that country.
