Yup, thats what I've heard about lease purchase plans. However I hear other people that are "leasing" and are doing ok, as this thread is showing. I understand that there are different ways to do leases, such as financing a truck independantly and then leasing on to a carrier instead of getting ones own authority. This doesn't seem to be what Steve and Lo are doing and I don't understand why Prime would be giving them a bonus to complete a lease agreement such as that. I guess I am just curious as to what different "lease" options are out there.

Thanks for the info, still learnin!

Your basing a post on information that your dad's best friend told you? Not information that you have garnered first hand? Have you ever in your life leased a truck from a trucking company Vegas? I'm guessing the answer to that is a big NO. Second, do you even drive for a living, have any otr experience, or hold a class A license. Your post is hearsay and not admissable in a court of law, and I for one take it for what it's worth, nothing. This thread was started and maintained by a driver doing just what you say is not possible, and he's doing very well at it. Take your babble and unsubstantiated garbage and post it elsewhere.

Who did your dad's best friend lease a truck through? Was it a lease purchase or a straight out lease?Have you ever leased a truck your self and can give us first hand accountings of why a lease with Prime is for suckers, or however you phrased it. Speak the truth and give specific examples or keep your rumor-mongering posts to yourself.

Looking forward to the adventures of Steve and Lo..

The lease completion bonus at Prime is based on the maintenence and overmileage funds that you enter into when you sign the lease with them. This has been explained earlier in this thread and is not hard to find if you look for it. Prime does not offer a lease purchase as Steve and Slick 50 have gone over as well.If you read the thread from the beginning you would have known that.Prime offers a lease for a certain amount of time, I believe Steve mentioned 462,000 miles, three years approximately as a solo operator. Then, get your check, lease another new truck, or explore other options.

I for one, am sick and tired of this "Lease Purchase" crap always being brought into the discussion on this thread. Prime does not offer a Lease Purchase and if you buy a truck with 460,000 on it when you have completed a lease and get a substantial return on your investment, I don't think your very bright. Take that lease completion bonus and put it down on a new tractor, invest it in an annuity for your retirement and lease on again, whatever you want.

We need slick 50 to wiegh in on this...Slick?YooHOO...

I drive 4 a PRIVATE SMALL company.I drive all 48 states. My brother-in-law drives 4 Marten he has driven for them for a couple of years. He did the lease purchase plan with CR England and TOTALLY GOT TOOK.Him along with my sister LOST EVERYTHING!!THEY WENT BANKRUPT OVER THIS!!!!!SO once again look at all these threads on here especially companies like CR England!!! Those poor drivers didn't know any better and they were sucked in!!! Its sad I just feel sorry for alot of people that get ripped off by doing lease purchases with companies.THAT IS ALL I AM SAYING!!!!

That's England, not Prime and I feel very bad for them. If you wanna slam England there are threads for that here. We are discussing one driver's adventure with Prime where most have said it was suicide, that's all. Respect the title of the thread and post pertinent information. Your referencing CR England and they are not in this discussion.

Anyway, you have leased a truck with what company again?

Something just struck me...you first claimed that your "Dad's best Friend" enlightened you to the ways of the lease, and now, it's your brother-in-law and sister? Dude, you need to get your lies, excuse me, facts straight.

I never leased with any company, however I said that my brother-in-law has. Not with PRIME.I also stated on a diffrent thread that when I was in CDL training PRIME came up a little bit but they said nothing about wether it was a good company or a bad company.I spoke with some folks at Prime and they seem 2 like it ok.I don't know if they lease with them or not though.I was just saying that alot of companies really stick it 2 u good on these lease purchases four and four u didn't answer my question do YOU think it is better to Lease purchase or just buy your own truck on your own????

This is business, read the contract.Yes, I would lease on with Prime and here's why:
A:It's a walkaway lease, you need to get out for whatever reason, health, family, home time , whatever, you can. If you trash the truck, your gonna get charged for it, so know that going in.
B:You make twice as much as a company driver, and while you have to pay for your benfits, these are all tax deductions that save you money. Did you know you can write off your cell phone, as much as you use for business, all your health care costs, insurance premiums, and even a home office, as long as you own your own home. The tax advantages are far greater than being a company driver.
C:Your lease completion bonus would be over twenty g's if you start with a brand new truck.Work three years and get 20K for a new rig to lease on to whomever you want? Not a bad idea in my view.
