Steve & Lo, is Prime tough to get on with. I have about 3yrs of otr and 3yrs of local experience. I Just finished orientation with Swift and was told they are going to send me out with a mentor for 6 weeks. It would take about 2 weeks to find one for me. I cant afford to wait that long so now I have to move on. I step away from driving for about 2 years and now regret it. Thanks for any info!!!

If you showed up for orientation next week.....you'de be driving by Friday. With the 2 yr break, you will probably have to go with a trainer for a few weeks.....but....if you take the driving test and pass....you could be in your own truck by Friday! Give them a call...... and tell them I sent you! LOL Just go to the Prime website and the number is there.....

No, Really..... It works that fast. Call ASAP..... They might be able to get you in for next week....for that matter....CALL NOW!
Give em' my name and truck# and I'll buy you dinner when I see you!

Heya all its been awhile since i posted.. i use to come on here and ask about new teams, pay, etc etc for a h/w.. well me and my wife made the jump and went to a local school and paid upfront.

We then went on and got on with Gordon Trucking out of Pacific WA.. we are currently running all 48 w/them and gettin great money and miles and loving it!!

We are very intrested in taking the steps to making more money.. eaither new company?..leaseing somewhere? or saving , buying a truck and leasing.. just kinda curious on what everyone thinks.

we have 4months xp atm.. and have had a 6980mi week.. but average around 5600 at .40cpm sp..

anyway i was wondering after reading your posts... and hearing about zebra and walcrawler from [snip] all doing well at prime makes me intrested.. i hear alot people complain about prime on forums and bash them left and right but that could be solo's.. or people who are not smart with there money..

Let me know if you can give me info on this steve we are seriously thinking about doing this.. let me know thanks

I've read the entire thread, and I don't think I missed this anywhere...but.

Obviously an acronym of some sort...term of endearment???

    What does SWMBO stand for???

I spent a lot of time in the Navy and even what's left of my military mind can't figure this one out...probably got to think a bit more civilian.

    Let me know.

    By the way...Happy Thanksgiving

dre....as with any company....there will be people that like it and those that don't. And, just like with most other instances....the ones that don't like something make the most noise.

If you ask, you will find that there are quite a few people quietly making REAL GOOD money at Prime. I just happen to be one of the ones that doesn't mind sharing the good....and bad with everyone. I have nothing to hide.

We (My wife and I) put $3300 in the bank again this week. She is finally beginning to believe. She's a hard sell....but, with enough consistency, she is starting to see the light. I just hope that we can help anybody out there that is wanting to try and make their life better.

Ya Steve so true, you always hear bad before the good.. and alot of the bad is commen to people who didnt have what it takes eaither mental or physical.

me and my wife are really intrested as we plan on buying a truck or leasing but i think gettin our foot in the door that way is a great idea, i appreciate your post in sharing all whats happining

would they hire us to do the lease w/ 4 months exp as a h/w team? or we need to bank more exp?

Steve & Lo thanks for this great thread on Prime! I just took the plunge and it looks like I will be starting training on Feb 5,2008 with Prime as a company driver. My story is very similar to many others on here. Quit trucking many years ago to get a "real" job and raise our family. Now the kinds are grown up and dad is re starting his career back up by leaving a well paying and secure job to follow a dream! Hopefully my wife will come aboard in a year or two and we can also try leasing along with teaming together. I really like their training program compared to most of the other companies with lots more actual driving with an experienced trainer. Thanks for all the great information and stories from the road. See you soon!

    Stay Safe,
