well where yall been what ya got going on now s&l...are caught up in any of that snow and ice yet? if so keep it straight..
well my situation is i been driving for this O/O here is louisiana for a little over 2 years now. i get good miles and am usually home on the weekends, but i run my ##### off during the week to be home. he is goingto retire in jan. or feb. and is selling off his equipment. he has offered to sell each truck and trailer to each driver. but we got to get all the stuff that goes with it and make payments to him each month...i think there is only 2 guys going to do it.. i am not one of them cause the truck i got has 880k on it.. i run pretty much run east coast as far out as arizina. nm and prob as far north as oklahomaWHO, virginia's. so i am left to find another driving job. now i do have a construction business back home that my wife runs, but with the way the economy is it is really dead and they talking not going to pick back up till end of 3rd quarter next year...so i think i am going to give prime time a chance see if i can make it work.. i do have a business mind am great with numbers. so no problems there..
so with being with prime what are some of the terms leases do they have?
do they have a fuel discount program for lease operators?
what other programs do they have for lease operators?
are ya able to pick what lanes you want to run in? i personally like the south not because i am afraid of the snow or ice. i was born and raised in iowa, so i know what its all about...use to ride with my dad hauling cattle and seen alot of incidents happen.
what is your average mile rate?
what in the cents part is taken from the check for all the maint. and tire fund?
does all the ifta and suchs come out of your check each week for when you first started driving and how long do they with hold such dollars 20 weeks 30 weeks?
i got some questions, be best if i just call up prime and have them just send me a packet in the mail. lol do you know if they would send me a lease aggreement to look it over?
i know some of ya are going to say stay away from a lease. but i don't want to make 3 or 4 hundred dollars as a company driver. its my choice like it is yours. we all got opinions...
you guys stay safe out there. i know you got a computer in that truck but do you have a camera take some pictures of the freightliner and show us what ya got....
if ya ever get down in the south and just happen to see a purple petercar 387, truck number 3087 with a drybox that says henry heights cannot miss it. big purple lettering from front to back of drybox. thats me i got JUGHEAD on both sides of the door. or if ya at a fuel stop and see me i will buy you guys breakfast, lunch, or dinner. if it is a good spot to eat....there is a nice spot in spartansburg sc that has a awesome bbq joint. best i have ate anywheres, besides my own back home...
stay safe

well i did talk with cindy today and she told me to go ahead and fill out a app online... just got to make sure i put in your truck number for the ref.
i asked her bout the fuel network and she told me that a lease operator is guaranteed(<----spelling) to pay 1.20 to 1.75 gallon. not sure if that is true or not... but anyways just got unloaded and headed to the house. ran 3136 miles since sunday night and i am tired as hell. catch yalls later..
be safe jug -
Thanks Steve and Lo, your info, was greatly appreciated. Spoke to Steve Young, my recriuter to-day and got great news....I've been approved by Prime and will come to orientation the 1st or 2nd wk of the new yr. Even though I have over 11 ys of experience I'm told I have to start out as a C seat driver and do 5 wks in a truck with a trainer and then move to a B seat and continue till I reach 60,000 miles before I can transition to an A seat, and I have the option to solo in an A seat for 20,000 miles then start at pay scale or continue in the B seat for the remainder of the 80,000 miles I have to do till I can get a company truck or become a IC lease opperator. I've decided to run at 6 to 8 mo. before I decide to lease or not. Steve if you could buy any truck you wanted.....based on making the most profit what would you buy.....Also sinse I havn't drivin in 12 yrs. I feel like a newbee so I don't feel bad about asking what the heck is a tripak?.....I live in NJ 20 miles west of the GWB but I see that most truckers don't want to run NYC or up to Mass. and Maine. is it because no-one likes city driving or is it something else, If I lease I want to run ware the money is.....are thare bad parts of the country to avoid?....For those of you that have been looking for info on driving for Prime as a company driver I will be posting as often as I can as soon as I start orientation.
Hey eveyone have a SAFE and BLESSED trip

This may sound like a goof ball question, but do the sleeper capinets have doors or nets? I h8 the nets.

Of the last two centuries I drove, one had nets (which suck) and the other had these really nice doors (see picture), They had little shelves inside the door you could put small stuff. Very nice feature.
-
what are the chances of NOT getting a freightshaker for my first lease? I HATE centuries and colombias
-
I called and asked, I was hoping for a t660, and Seth told me new people get centuries
My plan is to do a short lease (12-15 months) than do the ACE II plan to get the truck I want.
