I think everybody bad mouths any trucking company is cuz when you run into a driver on the road who wants to talk at a truck stop about how it is, isnt out there runnin to make any money like he should be. i always ####-chat with the drivers that always seem like they are on the run. They usually always have good things to say rather than the truck stop trolls.
Time for Prime.....

A lot longer then you my friend and yes I have leased a truck before. In fact I leased 2 trucks and had 3 employees on my payroll for over 5 years.
Ever heard of Bush Leasing or Merchants Home Delivery?
I leased 1 Hino strait truck and a class 7 INT day cab at $21,600 in lease payments per year. It cost me around $130,000 to run the trucks and my revenue was around $216,000.
Thats $64,400 to me over a decade ago without getting in a truck or leaving my friends and family for 10 months out of the year. Unfortunately the company I was leased to shut their door and I did not want to move to go to another account. I transfered both trucks to other drivers for merchants for cash buyouts of around $42,000. I then took a year off and traveled around Australia.
You don't have to drive OTR to be a O/O or do you need to spend $751 dollars a weekso you can look cool driving a shinny new rig. A friend of mine bought a used Penske Century for $32,000 and runs teams in it and had the truck paid off in 1 year. Then had the truck refurbished for around $23k and pays around $250 a week and now runs solo.
But hey I'm not knocking anyone who wants to pay $2900 a month to drive a shinny truck, thats their business. I'm just letting people know that you don't have to. Thats why lease outfit like prime target newer drivers who don't know what they are getting into. It's not a rumor that Prime has one of the most expensive leases in the industry thats all documented if you want to know or care. -
It's not about getting a shiny new truck. Not for me atleast. It's about being my own boss and getting a more in depth first hand look into being an O/O. I have no intentions of leasing my life away and Im definitely not going to be a company driver again.....ever. So I will eventually be an O/O or get out of the industry for good. But Im not about to go buy a new truck as I cant afford the upfront costs and overhead. I wont buy a used truck w/o a warranty and get stuck in Wyoming in the middle of nowhere 2 weeks into owning the truck. Not yet atleast. I will save my money using this program so I can afford it.

I Agree Scurvy Dog. Why Spend Money On A Old Truck, take A Chance Breaking Down. Prime's Lease Looks Good. Thanks Steve & Lo You Opened My Eyes As To A Way To Be Able To Lease Now And Buy A New K.w. Or Pete In A Few Years

So I find out despite what my recruiter said, I will be starting as a C seat driver. Man this sux. I HATE teams
-
Seriously, I teamed for a few months, and I got along really well with my co-driver, so it was acceptable-if nothing else, we could ##### about the crappy treatment together (2500 miles/week for a team! HAH!).
That was NOT with Prime, BTW. -
Yeah it's not all that bad. Im not exactly sure how it works starting at a C seat though. Do you run with a trainer and then team up with another driver to become a B seat? Atleast it's all team miles.
