    Dear Semi-Retired,
You would have to be the only driver at Prime that has ever made a $3000 paycheck. My husband and I were there for almost 3 years and we never made that kind of money. The truth is they ended up putting us into Bankruptcy. Our lawyer told us that he had another client who had worked for Prime also, they were also in Bankruptcy. I hope anyone looking at going to Prime really think twice on that one. No family should have to go through what Prime put our family through!!!
As for trying to get rid of a DM there it doesn't happen unless the DM says so. We found that one out when we started having a problem with our DM and couldn't pay our bills. We went straight to the owner of the company, Mr. Robert Lowe himself. He would not let us change DM's because our DM didn't approve. We were stuck with that S.O.B. till he put us into Bankruptcy. We have lost our home due to what all happen while at Prime and we are in debt to the IRS for almost $10,000 which is due to the 1099 instead of W2's. We had only but one home to give, and now that it's gone, we start all over with another company. I hope anyone going to Prime has a second home, because they will most in likely loose the one they have!
Any one going to Prime might want to look in a mirror to see if they have a brown nose, for that's what it take to make it there! Best of luck to all concidering Prime! God :help: All Who Lease From Prime!

Well...I believe there have been a few post in here confirming the statements that I have made....I know quite a few people that are doing VERY well....some even better than we are. Also, search for Slick50's posts...he is in the flatbed division....he has been very successful....even to the point that he was able to BUY his own truck....and he turned around and leased it right back on to Prime...That in itself is a very strong statement.

If you are only interested in being a Company driver...there are companies out there that might suit you better in the long run.

BUT...If you want to get your CDL...and learn from some of the best in the business....and then when the time is right make the decision to either be your own boss....or continue on with your new career..... I think Prime is quite possibly the best place to start this journey. Because, you WILL be exposed to both sides of the road in this company.....and you will be afforded the opportunity to make your own EDUCATED decision.

This is an example of what I have talked about since day one....Some people aren't cut out to be in business for themselves... I do feel bad for anybody that can't make it.....but, anybody that is in this for themselves knows that you have to make sacrifices in the home department.....Like Broncrider....Missing Christmas with his kids....but, he knew he needed to make the run....and his family knows how hard it is out here. Too many people go in to this thinking it will be easy money......then when they find out it's not.... They gotta blame somebody....and it can't be THEMSELVES.
I hope their new company takes very good care of them....somebody obviously needs to.

I talked to at least 20 drivers with Prime before i came here because I believe in making an educated decision about everything. All but 3 said they would never leave and the others probably would have but they were so busy hauling !## for Prime that they had to go! You will find that those who lease and do not make it here are the ones to fault for it. Here are a couple of reasons:
    1. They have no idea how to run a business and it is best for them to stay as company so that they do not have to think too hard.
    2. They have no idea how to run a business and it is best for them to stay as company so that they do not have to think too hard.
That about sums it up! Some were born to lead and others born to follow. I was a contractor for 20 years and gave it to my son who runs it now. I started the business when i was 17 ears old so i was always a leader and refuse to sit at the bottom of anything...If you can not make it at prime then it may be that ou can not make it as a o/o but that is ok, its not for everyone:biggrin_25525:

Thank you for the reply! I will do a little checking on slick50 and read over his posts as well.

If there would be one thing that would keep me from going with Prime would be that long....long bus ride. Did it once before when we went out to CFI, took 24 HOURS to get there from NC. I'm 6 ft 7in and those grey hound bus rides are murder!

I know that you are not trying to tell me that you did not put your 25% of your check aside because you thought that you were supposed to get a w2!!!
When you lease it is your business and you run it. I can get rid of my DM today if i want so i do not know what happened over there. I hate to think that you actually put yourself in bankruptcy because you could have walked at any time before YOU allowed it to happen. Im sorry for your problems but what you are saying does not add up and does not make sense at all

Yea" I live in Jacksonville N.C myself and I hate the bus. :(
Don't take my word for it. Whatever you do in life do it to the fullest and always make an educated decision. The check that i am making that past 2 weeks is uncommon but it is a high value 2 week dedicated that they gave me due to a trust issue. On average you will make $1200 $1450 on full weeks if you run normal but i am not normal. I get nominated for employee of the month every other month. :) Doesnt matter to me because it is who I am. Ive never had a service failure and i run like I mean it. About 700 miles a day if i can. Good luck to you!

Just to let you know...$10,000 to the IRS means you made at least $50,000 take home to owe that type of $$$

My wife and I don't do the bus thing either....so...when I had my Orientation she went with me....sat through the whole thing....we went out Thursday afternoon to pick out the truck together...then she drove back home to TN. When it came time for her Orientation.....she drove back to Springfield and we keep one of our vehicles parked in the secured lot for drivers to leave their POVs. All the time under the watchful eye of Prime Security! And it's always available when we are at the yard!
