i talked to prime and they said that bonus check is the money they take out every week to put up for you...so many cents per mile they take and if you complete the lease then you get that money back in form of a check...was told that on the phone today by a prime recruiter

I don't think that giving you your own money back fits the definition of a Bonus.

Well Ive seen this happen many times to lease purchase driver who turned their truck in before the end of their lease..Theyll take your truck at the beginning of your lease and document every aspect of that truck mechanically...Which is good..Example brakes..They at the time you signed have 70%.. You turn that truck in at the end of the I cant take no more of this BS clause in your lease.. They go over that truck once again with a fine tooth comb..Anything and everything thats less than what they documented at your sign in on that truck gets replaced out of you truck acct..That some companys make mandatory you keep with them. And that savings, well if your truck acct. doesnt cover it, it will be gone too..It wouldnt be the first time I seen a driver owe them for parts and the killer expence of labor for turning their unit in before the end of their lease..I would like to stress this, If at all possible buy your truck and take it to them. Changing brakes at 50% life should be prorated as all expences..But its not and truthfully the next guy that signs for the truck would get stuck with a truck thats going to be in the shop alot sooner than they can get the funds to cover it..Make sure you understand this and choose a truck in real good shape, they cant make you take anything..Tell them your going home and theyll break out the good ones I promise you..So to the next guy look at it like your giving him the chance when they drain you on this..Hopefully youll not owe.. But if possible, Take your own truck.!

    Hey Bud,
The checks do not have the taxes taken out of them but everything else including fuel in already out. These type of check can only be done if you know how to run hard and to work the system. That in itself is an art form.:biggrin_25519:
The road that I was on was the 123 in AR and it was the first time that I can say that I was so scared that I got out at the bottom and took a wizz in the middle of the road. :biggrin_25524: There were no signs on the road at the beginning or anywhere else and the route solution told me to go that way. There are no possibilities of turning around at all. About half way through it the road started to narrow until there was only room for me but there were still 2 lanes. It was 3am so that was not the bad part. Here is what happened: I came to a point where the road looked like the ribbon candy that you get at Christmas and a truck with a boat could never have made the turns. One of then was worse than the others. It had a mountain and a rail on the right hand side but the left went down the mountain. There was no option of going back so the only 2 options were to have a helicopter come and pick the truck up to carry it out, or to take the chance on the turn. So I bridges the road where the passenger wheel were going to hit about 4 ft down the mountain and the drivers side was going to hit about 8 ft down. I put the differentials on and closed my eyes. As I pulled the trailer down into the valley, the trailer started to tip and the truck on the passengers side started to come of the road. I hit the fuel and burned the rubber on the drivers side while dragging the trailer as hard as I could. With my eyes still shut, I bounced up out of the valley and all was good so I opened my eyes. If I had tipped, I would have gone down the mountain and would not be writing to you right now. The next turn was as bad but there was a big tree there that held the trailer up and shifted it to the side so that I could go around. The next 3 were just saplings and boulders to deal with and then I made it. My entire body would not stop shaking for about an hour and we got in touch with the AR DOT to see what we had to do to mark that road.

Here is my advice...DO NOT get off of the Interstate in AR unless you absolutely have to. I took the highway the other way around and it was only 55 miles more and it took less fuel and my life was not at risk. I dont want to lose any of us. :biggrin_25513:

Be good and be safe out there

I wish that I could explain all of what is involved but part of it was $$$ that you put in in the first place for tire fund, performance bond, and mile overage for the depreciation of the truck when running as hard as I do:biggrin_25525: The rest is a bonus for finishing the lease and it is based on the miles you run. The bonus will vary depending on what needs to be fixed when you are done and what you payed in or earned. A 2 year lease will be about 12,000 before the $$$ is taken out for damage, (you will have some, trust me) and about 18,000 for a 3 year lease minus damage, such as a new seat from all those miles. Cleaning, tire depreciating or even a credit if they are newer than what was on them when you got it. And whatever else then can find. Prime does not own the lease company, they only have contracts with them, so do not think that you will get a break from the company. It has nothing to do with Prime. If you decide to purchase the truck then you will get ALL of the $$$ back towards the down payment and then they will finance you for the purchase.
