I got the following emails from OOIDA today:
Dear David,
Tomorrow, your Representative in the U.S. House will vote on whether or not to increase your minimum insurance requirements from $750,000 to $2,000,000. Your Representative has a choice - stand with truckers in opposing this unnecessary increase or vote with the trial lawyers, who want it to become law so they can make even more money from suing drivers like you.
Tell your Representative to VOTE YES on Bost Amendment #184, which would remove this harmful increase from the House highway bill. You need to tell lawmakers how damaging this increase would be to your business, how unnecessary it is (damages in over 99% of crashes involving a CMV are covered by today's minimum), and how it doesn't belong in a bill that is supposed to encourage economic growth and job creation.
Call your Representative today! You can find contact information for your Representative by clicking HERE and typing in your ZIP code. You can also call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202)-224-3121. An operator will connect you directly with your Representative.
You can watch the Committee Markup here beginning Wednesday at 10:00am eastern. We will continue to pass along relevant updates. You can reply directly to this message with any comments, suggestions, recommendations, etc. or email [email protected]. Thank You!

AND:
Dear David,
The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will be meeting tomorrow June 9th to make changes to the House Highway Bill released last week. As part of this effort, OOIDA is supporting Bost Amendment #184 to strike the minimum insurance increase from the bill. We also anticipate additional amendments to eliminate anti-trucker sections of the legislation, including:
