good luck i am in west mi and thinking of driving too. if your looking for a company and need training you might look at roehl they have hiring spots in the u.p. and different home time plans. one might work for you.

i,m not totally sold on company traing for the best way to go except if its your only choice. i will say this. this site has so much info for the new driver it will make your head explode lol everyone here is so helpful.

I plan on putting myself trough school here in Escanaba. From what I here it is a very good school it's going to cost me about $3400.00 but I won't be tied to a company for 2 years and Roehl tries to hire all of their students. As for a company to go with I would like to get in with Jeff foster out of Superior WI I know they to get Through lower Mi alot I here nothing but great things from their drivers. My second choice is Roehl.

caz are you allowed to say the company? i am starting to hear michigan is a state you might not get home too often with some companies. if you could make good money roehls home time plans sound good.

my thing is it will be a huge step for me,been at the same company for 22 yrs, no skills except cdl-b. so if for some reason i dont get the class a, i dont like being over the road then dont have the experience or cant find a local driving job or i cant pass a back x-ray ( never bothers me much but being in the truck - who knows ) so i have alot to consider. lol

anyway a heads-up on a company that hires in mi would be cool.
