Well,I'll say it one more time with a story so maybe some of you can figure it out.
I went to a pilot truck stop a few day's ago in Kerney,MO the place is alway's packed and very busy.I needed a shower and when I went in,there were 6 driver's ahead of me.I was like "great" I'll be here an hour.As soon as a driver came out,5 minutes later a shower was ready,I was called for my shower 20 minutes later.
When I walked back there, here was this shower guy, sweating his butt off and He said "Sir I'm sorry you had to wait,we're alway's very busy and I hope you have a nice shower today".The shower was perfectly clean with 2 towel's.
Now here's a guy that has one of the worst job's anyone could have.He worked very hard at it and took pride in his work and service to other people. That is a succesful man, regardless of his job title.
So you say, what works for some doesn't alway's work for other's.(B.S.) If you work hard and take pride in what you do and give great service, then you will be succesful, and That will work for everyone,no matter what you do.
I left the shower guy a 5 dollar bill.

Who needs YOUR story been there done it. I have what I have ( lot more than a used up leased truck ) from HARD WORK , pride in my job and provided my employers / customers with good service..
If you had a CLUE the "DOES NOT WORK for others" was LIKELY pointing to the FACT that some DO not WANT to work for it.
And wow big $5 tip to the shower guy , you think your the only 1 that ever tipped oneUS MARINE Thanks this. -
When you say BS it makes me want to say this .. If a guy is sitting in a TS waiting on a load and gets noting or a 200-250 mile run is that BS when he's trying but can't get a decent load ? I've heard success stories at ACT and Horror Stories also . It's no surprise to me that at orientation that they do a special segment to get a guy to convert from his choice of being a company driver to going LP .
Why would that be ? I guess it's BS .. But we all know they do it
Never the less it may be cool for some just not cool for me . Being a LP driver is not the same as going out and buying a truck ( I know you'll think different ) you got no control of that truck except maybe declining a load now and then .. That's it -
LP = bought yourself a job
owner = financed your biz yourself
Ive got news for you if your avg take home is 1,400-1,600 I've saw some post it at 1,100 or so and saw a guy post he brought home 5,800 for a month and was most he ever made . I got news for you if I don't net .. 2,200 -2,400 at least its bad week .. And my truck note is 1/2 of a ACT - LP my note is 1050.00 and that's APU everything avg 7.2-7.4 most all the time .
My note is monthly the ACT note is every week ( weekly ) my rate is roughly 13% which I'll admit is little high but I'd venture to say the rate on a LP is much higher I'm guessing 14-15% maybe upwards of 17% ( not sure )
But I guess it's just ... BS -
bigkid2 in all fairness . You have no idea what the other drivers recap looked like . Also i believe your on paper logs . Was the other driver on paper or electronic. I garantee you when you get on electronic logs . Your not gonna like it . I have watched drivers on paper logs go in and unload . Why i was sitting down the road watching you drop or unload . Trust me it suks . Nothing worse sitting in a tstop and the consignee just down the road and your counting the tics on the clock. I have talked to alot of drivers on paper that get better miles . There all kinds of trickes on paper that dont fly on elogs. So you got the advantage. If im wrong volunteer for the elogs and prove me wrong . I know you wont dont it cause you know im right .
US MARINE Thanks this. -
If you think your miles wont be affected by elogs . I challenge you to take your truck to the shop a install the elogs . I Gaurantee that will never happen . So i just proved my point

I have ran Elogs and they are ok if your running and drop and hook but when you sit in a dock for 2-3 hrs not so cool then

I understand the buyer or Lp argument i get it. But if i have a health issue or get in a car accident why im home. Bank note still due. On a Lp ill take my wheel chair go home. I also tried to be a buyer. 10,000 down wasnt good enough for freightliner or loan mountaine . I got 2500 worth the debt otherwise my credit avg. So im leasing

No i believe last i heard all drivers will be elog by november . But well see. I always say you control when you start the clock. But once you do the clock controls you. Thats a fact. You can go to any company thread and see drivers complain about the elogs. People say there complaining ,are the one that arent on elogs. Im sitting now waiting for the shipper to load me clocks running . I live 50 miles up the road they dont load me in the next 2 hrs im taking a 10hr break before i go home . No choice
