Maybe I heard wrong but I thought L/P could use there off duty driving as long as they wanted or is that just bobtailing? just asking is all not trying to start anything just wondering(new to e-logs sorry)
-
No , you can't just do whatever you want with off duty driving same as paper . You have to be bob tailed and CANNOT be under a dispatch at all . If a DOT guy pulls a LP driver over and checked Machine and it show off duty driving your toast or better yet if that person had a accident .. Imagine what would happen .. But if your using truck as a personal vehicle and not laiden you can use the off duty drivingreefer75 Thanks this.

Cannot use Off Duty Driving even if you have a empty trailer your still considered laiden . Bob tailed only and only if your not under a load even if your bob tailed

I am leaning towards a career at ACT. But I am still in the army, and I am new to trucking in the US. The leasing plan sounds almost too good to be true! Any comments out there? Are any of the ACT drivers just company drivers? Are they satisfied? I hate debt, and I don't really want to get in to it. But I suppose if you are a lease operator, you have no choice. I guess i am just plain scared. ANy advice would be greatly appreciated! I remember my boss in Germany just getting by to make ends meet! ANd my other boss spent lots of time trying to cheat the system. He is now bankrupt! What to do?

Come do the company driver thing, and see what the company is like first. A guy I was in orientation with is a company driver, and is getting ready to switch to lease. He's a math nerd like me, but he has real numbers to plug in. You will get a feel for the company, and our customers beforehand. If you like it, it's easy to switch when you're ready. If you don't like it, you have only time invested. If you really like the company gig, you can stick with that.
The Specialist Thanks this. -
