I'm never telling you anything again. Plus it wasn't a target......it was between myself and the mugger. That purse gave it's life to protect me! It was a hero! :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

One night I was up at the TA in Greencastle PA, I was sitting close to the register and it was right at shift change. The poor waitress got some really bad news because the 3 other girls who were suposed to be working that night did not show up. She wound up working the entire dining room herself.

I was pretty impressed because it was busy, and I actually got pretty deacent service, actually it would have been good service if they had a full staff, the girl really rose to the occasion.

I left her a 100.00 tip, she cried a little and gave me a hug when I did.

I have also had a few that gave me terrible service, and I left em 3 pennies.

I am not going to tip some one just for showing up, its kind of like how I feel a paycheck isnt just an attendance award. You should actually have to do something for it.

I am trying to remember if it was a loves or pilot, but one of them leaves business cards in some showers with the name of the cleaning person and asking for tips. I think it is pilot tho...

They don't demand, they ask. It is part of the business, just like O/O's expecting a fuel surcharge.

Demand or ask...the same thing! Obviously you don't know much about the SERVICE industry....they named it that becasuse that is what it is...Service.

The tip is actually a GRATUITY...in this case (money) a reward, or thank you for doing a good job, taking the effort to assure the CUSTOMER is satisfied with the SERVICE, the SERVICE the wait staff provided, assisted by the bus staff and the kitchen staff...at the end of the shift the wait staff tips (actually shares his/her tips with the other two functions) the bus and the kitchen for assisting him/her with his/her job of SERVING the food, drinks, and information of the establishment with the customer(s).

And yes O/O's do expect a fuel surcharge be given to them...otherwise they wouldn't be able to afford the costs of keeping their equipment going. The company, or broker is charging the surcharge, and it rightfully should be passed on to the driver. Not a percentage of it, the whole collected surcharge.

Someday you will understand that point...till then...just sit back and let the game continue and you will learn about all the ins and outs of the industry....if you pay attention!

If I am at a sit down restuarant (Country Market) like the Flying J in Ruther Glen / Carmel Church, VA; I don't mind leaving a tip. Normally I leave twenty percent because waiting tables is tough work.

    BUT ...

If I am at the Pilot eating at the Subway in Tanneyville, VA off of I 64 on my way to the Hampton Roads / Norfolk area ... yes, I do mind leaving a tip.

    My rule of thumb ...

at sit down restuarant where the waiter/waitress comes to you ... leave a tip ...

at a restaurant where you approach a cash register at a counter, leave NO tip ...

    oh well Thanks this.
