I never tip my hair stylist...Hell she already gets my paycheck....I work for free, she cuts for everything...well she does some laundry once in a while too, picks me up at the truck when i get home, takes care of the household, the kids, her parents, the animals, the yard work, the cooking, the cleaning...once in a while she even gives me 3 minutes extra....maybe I should be tipping her, guess i will start saving my change for her!

Don't any of you tell i said I would start tipping either!!!!!!

Your paying that waiter. I dont care what way you say it.
Lower the price of food or pay the waiters more. So a 20$ plate would be 23 if tip was included? Why dont they just advertise
it as 23 dollars and you dont tip. I think this tip thing is a scam to get you to pay their employee. Maybe it should be a 17$ plate without tip included and 20
with tip, when people are lookin at menu prices they usually dont look at the price of the meal plus tip, theyre just lookin at the price listed,go figure..
they make a killing at some of these restaurants for carrying food in their handsLast edited: Dec 26, 2009

Dear otherhalftw's wife,
I am writing you to inform you of your husband's decision to start tipping you....
-
Did you happen to notice this part of his statement??
The vast majority (everyone I know) who wait tables, does not make minimum wage. This is a matter of Federal Law.
So again why do you feel it necessary to take your issue out on your server? Contact the Federal Government. -
So you got how big a lump o coal in your stocking?????
Thanks a lot! -
My mother waited tables at the local truck stop for 14 years while I was growing up because my step-dad was irresponsible with his money, and her $30 to $50 a day in tips helped keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. So, I am a firm believer in tipping......NOT for "doing your job", but for going "above and beyond", like making me feel like I am "someone", not just another warm ### setting at a booth.Ducks, Texas-Nana and LooneyTune Thank this.

I worked in the Reno casinos while in college, (before they started taxing the tips), the first thing I learned, give good service, take care of your customers, your tip will be based on YOUR SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER...today, these people in the service industries tend to EXPECT the tip and not care about how it is supposed to be earned.
Working Class Patriot, LooneyTune and Pur48Ted Thank this. -
You are paying their employee to serve you food. Why dont they just
raise their prices by 15% on everything? Either that or serve it themselves
Im not paying someone a "tip", too much grey area there, not payin
someone elses employee. He can raise the menu price as a cost incurred.
And if its good service you can tip, but shouldnt be obligated, no wayLast edited: Dec 26, 2009

One good prank we used to do with the tip....get your glass of water, put a paper napkin (unfolded) over the top, invert the glass (with napkin) and place on your coin tip...trim the excess napkin away from the glass....when the wait person goes to lift the glass off the quarters, the water splashes all over the legs....
Go ahead give me bad service the next time I come in!
