Screenshot_2020-04-23-18-34-40.png Switch your fold so that the free end comes up between the load and the strap. Now fold it down and pad the edge of the trailer then strap down over that.

    thank you!!

part of my struggle i think is the fontaine rail is actually like a block with holes machined in it for the straps so not very roomy. plus my 30' straps way too long most of the time.

Ive seen those rails and dont think i'd like them. Its cheaper for a CNC to hog out a piece on autopilot than to pay a welder to build spools and pockets.

Cut some straps down and start marking the hook with a color code. I use a slash cut and torch the fray. Youll have a lot less to tuck in. Use the shorties for pallets, rebar and belly strapping.

Yup, I keep 2 sets of straps. Cut 10 feet off one set. Probably use the shorter straps 75% of the time. Makes strapping pallets and such a lot quicker.

Not really pertain just to flatbed. But If you anticipate using electrical tape. Keep it in your front jeans pocket. You will warm it up enough to work well even in the coldest weather.

Not sure on R value of track pants, sorry.

I have at least 8 that I ordered @ 22 ft. They they are great for lumber/plywood, bricks/blocks, anything in sacks and all the curtain van beverage loads I used to do.

    I'
I've been just taking the extra from a rachet strap and folding it until I have just a little extra left. I then take it and put the loop between the rachet and bed or rub rail and tighten it down.
DOT hasn't ever said anything aboutit like that and I have been through numerous inspections. They usually just look to see if they are tight and no cuts that would compromise the straps integrity.
