I pull a step. I own 2 of them actually. And if you want to save the $40. I never wrap a strap around the stake pocket the sharp edges cut straps. But Ancra brand straps have a narrower hook. That fits through a stake pocket. And if you use a 3" Ancra strap it works perfect. I just always use 2" straps. That I've turned the extensions backwards do there is no need to wrap around a stake pocket. And I double them up. Where 1 4" strap can be used. I just double up 2 inch one pulling one way one pulling another.

I do kind of the same thing now. I took a file to the bottom edge of my stake pockets to get rid of the sharp edge.

I wonder if a guy could trim a 4" strap hook to fit into a stake pocket.
    Surely someone has tried this.

I store 6 moving blankets in one box on the trailer. Folded just right and squeased, they do fit.

Got 4 boxes on the trailer and still not enough room. Guess I need to think about adding another.

Can you hook them like this? The ring or chain wouldn't touch the insulation.
