As a recovering plumber, I have a lot of pex in the old shop, I'm gonna slice some up today. That's a great idea.

Used the pool noodles a few times now and they work great adding down pressure and as edge protection on some messed up stone loads. Tennis balls have also come in handy several times.

Where do you guys buy straps? I need to replace some, truck stops are too expensive and there are about a thousand things I'd rather do than by some from my company.

Truck pro is OK place on price for straps. Also most tarp stores carry them at a decent price.
Also ebay if your wanting to buy in quanty.

Personally I prefer to buy them from our company (Mercer) but they sell them to us pretty reasonable at $12 each or $10 if we got an old one to turn in. Not real sure why they want old ones.

I went to walmart and bought a camping shower bag, shower everyday! I keep 3 empty milk jugs and fill them wherever I stop, might be tough in February

Anyone using the porta winches which drop into the stake pockets.: I have yet to figure a good way to secure extra strap lenght and mine seem to hold very little in the actual winch. I usually put it back over the freight held down by the pulling strap but figure there should be better way.

If you give them the old strap back they reuse the hooks on the new straps. Our company does the same thing, they don't want the whole strap back just bring the hardware.
