Where do you buy those? They look a lot more useful than the tiny T/J hooks at Iowa 80. They'd make chaining through the chain holes on transformers a breeze, even with 3/8" or 1/2" chain, assuming those hooks aren't too fat, or their weight rating is too low.

I have no idea lol, I just googled them. But any tow truck supply store should have them.

Idk if you enlarged the pic, but the bottom chain has a round piece with two hooks. One of those hooks is for going inside the frame hole on vehicles.

those are the chains made for tow trucks. I'm not sure using those big hooks would be legal on a flatbed load

If they have the WLL stamped on them they're game.

Yep, tow trucks aren't exempt from load securement rules, they think they are but they're not.

I bought mine at the Petro in Kenly, NC. they have them at all the Iowa 80 stops (Joplin and that Petro in Oak Grove, MO. )

Once, I went to the Oak Grove store, looked at the securement and saw those stake pocket strap winches for $19.95. I brought one up the the register and asked the girl to scan the price. She confirms $19.95! I went back and grabbed 5 more

Correct, tow trucks are not exempt, we (past tense) are not enforced either. I never liked using the long J hooks, they bend to easy and if they ever get any slack, they fall off. At the end of my 18 yrs of towing, I used the cluster on a ratchet strap and used four of them. You can get them at AW Direct, or TruckNTow. I prefer what we call an R hook as it will not come out accidently if used correctly, the mini-J and T-hook will fall out sometimes if the chain comes loose. (have seen it happen). Just my .02 worth from experience.

I found one in a snowbank and it was like finding gold. Never seen them for under $49.99. Use all three of mine often.

How I secure my ladder. I've got a 17 ft reach with that little sucker. Best $150 bucks I ever spent. 20151007_111231.jpg

Do you have to unplug your airlines to get it out?
