Welcome to the world where drivers are shown respect (in my experience). Watch how other drivers secure loads. Ask questions. Flatbedders are a very helpful lot.

By far the simplest solution to that all too common problem. Thank you and I'll be doing this from now on.

There's a good bunch of folks here who'll certainly do their level best to steer you on the right path. You're going into this seeking wisdom, so that alone is half the battle.

Always remember that an old dog CAN be taught new tricks.:)

Saw a guy driving through my local truckstop in a pickup going from open deck to open deck. I asked him if he was looking for something and he said "no, just looking to switch to a dropdeck after 11 years of driving and wanted to look at some of the loads". I only got suspicious of him after I asked if he had any questions and he said "no". Pretty sure he was just looking to steal tarps after that. It's going to be natural to want to ask questions the first 20 years or so you're doing open deck, and the really smart drivers keep it up even longer. Stay curious and it will serve you well on this side of the industry.

Working on the 758 pages on pics forum now and I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions but you guys do a great job of explaining a lot!
