    I've got about 100 reclaimed S-hooks I've used like that. Never liked how hard they are to keep under tension and on the rub rail when snugging the rope up.

    I go to the bottom of the bed rail. Hook stays in place, rope pulls against the bed and gets a good seal.

    It you have T mount sliding winches, that may not work as well.

    I've got double L sliders, but I think it might work out with a bit of hook bending.

    I like a good polyester rope. Polyester will not stretch like nylon or most other types.

    I pull a step deck and carefully stand on the bar to tighten straps every time. I don't have a ton of upper body strength, so this helps me use my whole body strength

    How about getting to the point? secure your load cover it up so its protected against the weather and you'll be ok

    obviously i had no idea about my new idea
