Yep, the door thing is usually locals doing short hops between customers (barn types) or rollup doors. Saw one last week, hammer down south of Louisville on I-65, passing folks with door rolled up and palletized freight right to the back (including a pallet jack under one). No CB answer either.
Saw him about 10 miles later with 2 cars with flahy blue lights sitting behind him. It's a wonder he ain't on here whining about the *^%## cops in Kentucky.

Hub on fire? Yup. Brakes onfire? Uhhuh. Tire on fire from being flat or shedding chunks of rubber all over? Oh yeah.

And when you have a few more years you'll realize your estimate on 4 wheelers is waaaay too low.:biggrin_2559:

I'm new, I learn things every day.

I like to stop at TAs and petro most of the time since they have a counter where drivers can sit and chat with one another. I've found out a lot of good info such as traffic and weather conditions by talking to drivers. Also get good info on the CB when drivers aren't talking about their wife knew this guy who used to know someone who did something and that they didn't have any panties on lol.

But to be serious I use this forum to find a lot of great info. Thanks to all the experienced guys and gals willing to help a rookie out.

Love this sight...Learn a lot from it....Turn CB on sometime but most of the time it is off....Don't want to listen to all the @$&*( that is on the CB...Don't get me wrong the CB is a very useful tool but way to much trash talk.

You are so right... I used to survive on my "cash discount" when i bought fuel...it would allow me to eat the "daily special" most days. I'd just sit at the counter and listen... even nod on occasion.

Speaking of the 'cash discount' when buying fuel... we used to get 3-4 cents per gallon cash back when diesel was 30 cents per gallon... now these guys get all excited about "double points" when fuel is $4/gallon....

I've seen everything within the last two months (except the fire hydrant deal... that was two years ago right after I spotted a Swift going east on I-94 with the top of the sleeper gone... driver said he tried going under a 10' underpass in Chicago)....

What prompted this post was an England driver nearly rear-ending a huge traffic back up a few nights ago at the WI/Il line on I-94.... I hollered at him to slow the ###### down cuz there was traffic stopped 500' in front of him...he barely got it whoa'd down in time... 200 trucks with their flashers going and he didn't notice!
