I'm not really familiar with this I'll research it, and throw my conclusions. For now I'm sort of an ignorant on this matter.

120lbs cold all around.....
11R24.5 H..... short hauls , heavy weights. -
My tires on my freightliner and 3 axle trailer are all Michelin and rated at 120 cold psi. Per our tire rep, I run all 22 tires at 110 psi. Warm they sit right around the 122 mark. 110 is recommended because it puts less strain on the bands and sidewalls. If they were inflated to 120, at operating temp, they would be up around 135 and the bands and side wall would be at max stretch.

Gotta think when you run a tire underinflated it causes extra stresses on the tire too. Excessive sidewall flex = heat = premature failure. Not to mention increased rolling resistance which = lower fuel economy.

Made me go check myself there @not4hire
It must be something I learned from school on the 80 psi. I can't find anywhere it says a specific number, just for the load carried and tire rating.

What is this school you speak of..?

A building filled with students and teachers
AModelCat Thanks this. -
Tires pop from being underinflatedm correct????
Less pressure = greater heat.
110 psi runs cooler then 80 psi. -
I'll see if my mechanic does this and how much he charges for proper adjustment. Also I'm pretty sure if he opens those,he will find something to fix and more $$$. After 65k miles I haven't got any wheel bearing improper adjustment wear symptoms on the recaps, no recap got internal dose wear. The abs is working great no intermittent failure after I fix it, the remaining 10 recaps tires don't show this kind of wear. I do have 2 trailer tires that shows uneven shock absorbers/suspension wear, which I already fixed. But it won't hurt to adjust them.Last edited: Apr 17, 2017

To finish my tire psi dilema.
80 is bear minimum so no
90 is a safe bet, but requieres more attention than I'm willing to give.
95 once a week psi/tread depth on cold sound good. Over inflated by 15 psi but not as much as conventional wisdom.
100 Most common tire pressure, but overinflated, if I check and inflate my tires once a week there's no need to overinflate.
So I'll settle in mid ground at 95.
Thanks for the inputs!
