Well, this is getting out of hand and it will not be solved--only argued about ad infinitum. I'm sorry you guys feel so towards Doctors and Lawyers, and airplane pilots (of which I have been licensed, too). Some of my best friends ARE doctors, lawyers and pilots--many of whom happen to be hams. Next time you need medical or dental care-----go see a TRUCKER!!! LMAO! :biggrin_2559:

As to the veracity of the FCC hits, tell ya what. You DOUBT what I say so much, why not get it from the horse's mouth?:biggrin_25525: Call 1-717-338-2577!!! THAT'S the FCC Counsel for Amateur Enforcement who also has something to do with CB enforcement since SHE signed many of the letters:biggrin_255: TO and AGAINST many CB operators. ASK her if anybody has actually received a $10,000 fine! They sure are on the 'web published at FCC's website, that of ARRL (Amateur Radio Relay League), and other sites!!! THEY ARE THERE!!!!!!! Her name? Laura Smith. Long-term FCC employee, recently assigned to the Counsel post after the retirement of the past holder of the title. Ask HER if there's any CB enforcement, or if I'm just blowing smoke (to use a CB phrase). Don't believe ME--ask HER--the lady that has SIGNED the letters!!! WHAT more could you ask for

It's Friday, Feb. 19, 2010. Ms. Smith is in the office RIGHT NOW:biggrin_2556:! So go ahead----CALL her! WHAT? YOU "SKEERED"? :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559: C'mon, now! Don't afraid to learn the TRUTH! She won't BITE you (unless you've got one of those illegal, so-called "10 Meter" radios) Whaddya say? :biggrin_255:

My purpose here is to warn people away from 10 Meters. I sometimes even help people solve technical issues (so long its not something illegal like linear amps or "extra" channels). If I keep someone from going onto 10 or 12 Meters without the license, then I have accomplished my aim.

Is she related to the TOMB RADER LAURA ?

The problem with the 10 meter radios, IMO, is that its just a matter of time before users are compelled to flip that band switch. I think the Amatuers have a legitimate complaint, especially where 10 meters is concerned, because alot of the time people are talking on the non-voice frequencies. I am not a ham, and though I did consider it, have decided not to get into it at this time. Gadfly may get offensive with the wording, but he's just trying to get his point across the best way he knows how and he offers advice, as long as it doesn't pertain to illegal equipment. WAG4CH gets his point across without being offensive, and often offers helpful advice either way. Peace62 will never get his point across, because to him, we CB'ers are all morons and he has to talk down to us like we're 2 years old. The bottom line is, IMO, if you want to run a 10 meter radio on 11 meters, do it. If you want to run an amp on 11 meters, do it. Just keep in mind, while it may be a longshot, if you DO get caught, it could cost you. IF you venture up into the Ham bands, you can't really complain when they fuss about it. There are always going to be Hams on cb boards fussing about exports, and there are always going to be CB'ers flipping the band switch on exports. I have a question for Gadfly, WAG4CH, and peace 62, do you care what people do on 11 meters? Don't mean to offend anyone, just my opinion.

WAG4CH is a decent guy and I have no problem with him at all. He says what he has to say without the feeble attempts at condescention.

The other two are in my opinion...Desperate for someone...ANYONE to be made aware of their blinding brilliance and obvious (guffaw) intelligence. That particular brand of need borders on pathetic.

Read the ARRLweb: FFC enforcement letters and it's mainly Ham's complaining about electric dog fences and fluorescent lights interfering with their signals.
So it's just not illegal cber's they complain about they complain about anything that maybe causing them static in their radio's.
They write the FCC to complain about homeowners who have no idea what is going on. Then the homeowner has to spend money just so the radio operator cant hear the static/interference on his radio.

I have an export for the reason of the power w/o an amp when talking skip on 38lsb. I only talk on 11 meters. No need to go to any other band.

The thing that bugs me is when someone comes in asking about a type of radio, then we get our resident Ham Rambos popping in and ramming their thoughts down our throats. All the while they use slang type terms trying to make us truckers seem like toothless no minded back country hicks.

The few of these Ham Rambos are not even truck drivers and only come on this board to troll this section. They should have been banned long ago.
