    Whenever I buy a used tire(very rare, been a long long time), I look at the DOT number on the side wall by the bead. Tells you the manufacture date. I’m sure your aware of this.

    Oh yeah. They say within 5 years for casings I think. That seems too long. My cars usually break a belt before wearing the tires tread out. Seems to be a lot more common now. After 5 years, 7 max, a belt breaks. Must be my driving or lack of driving habits. Sitting in the driveway all the time must be the reason. Between the steel belts flattening out, and dry rot. Old days I’d burn em up!!!
