    Well I have a load that have to be in MS at 2am monday was going to try to get back and jump on them kelly steer at $300 a piece but after I opened my hood and took a good look at my steer tires the driver side look a little scary so I might get a set some where between home and MS tried to call a couple petro to get prices but got put on a never ending hold so if I end up over paying it still better than dot pulling me in and making me call someone out to replace one

    I speced a lot of steer tires, looking at the tread depth of the new tire and finding out how many 32nds you get for the dollars and found Bridgestone to be the least expensive tire for the amount of tread you get for the money. A few dollars more but for a lot more tread and a lot more miles, so cheaper down the road.

    There are several brands that have from 28-32/32 tread. I have had good service out of Double Coin and they have 30 or 32/32 tread and are much less expensive than Bridgestone.

    loves has double coin & other names brands yokohama & bf's on sale now. real good deals on them. tire prices will rise quite a bit starting this month due to the higher cost of oil.

    That doesn't matter if you don't take care of them.

    Rollin - Great deal, last Nov bought BFG's at Champaign IL dealer for old Mac at the farm. Paid $3108 all in but had no value in casing. We had Kellys on other Mac with only a couple issues but with 8-months and about 3,000 mile on them (used only during harvest) had to replace two and they replaced them free. Not sure how much of that was Kelly and the local dealer. Farm town and not standing behind them would hurt the dealer and Kelly.

    Yeah I had been driving around one week just randomly stopping and checking tire prices. I'll never forget somebody on here posting don't waste your time with the big truck stop chains they're the most expensive always. Stopped in knoxville petro and the manager said he'd make me a deal I couldn't pass up. Turned out he was right. They will not be undersold on tires. They'll go $150 below the cheapest quote you can get in writing. I think Kelly tires are even cheaper than bridgestones and yokahamas. Yoka's are about to rise in price due to demand. They're far superior to bridgestones in my experience. Never ran any Kellys before.

    Both BW9 and myself picked up a set of Firestone FS590 PLUS steers over the last couple of weeks. (18/32 tread)
    {Firestrone/Bridgestone just had a 22% price hike 3/1 and Dunlop is expected to follow 4/1}

    We both went to Petro (they will not be undersold, but always..always speak direct to the Manager - not some counter person).

    The last set of steers I got 120,000 out of yoko 617's with centramatics. They still had 9/32's when I pulled them off because of a bad wear issue related to a worn out leaf spring bushing. I'm confident those tires would have gotten 200,000 miles if that bushing hadn't went out.. To each his own I've just never had any luck at all with bridgestones wearing even or correctly...
