I believe you meant to say BF Goodrich rather than Bridgestone, although they're not technically wholly owned by Goodrich either.

Bridgestone bought Firestone Tire in 88 and Bandag, the tire retreader in 2007.

Yokohama Rubber Company was established in 1917 as a joint venture between Yokohama Cable and BF Goodrich, US. Yokohama Tire was established in Los Angeles (Montebello) in 1969 and moved to Fullerton in 1986. In 1988 they entered into a heavy truck tire manufacturing venture joint venture with General Tires and Toyo Tires, and between 1989 and 1992 acquired Mohawk Rubber Company of the US and began US tire production in the Salem, VA plant, which is currently undergoing a massive expansion program.

I've had a couple sets of US produced Yoko's on my 4 wheel vehicles including my current ride, and really liked them... Good ride and handling, and no less desirable, quieter than any other performance tires I've run...

They used to be a cheaper tire. They're the same price as bridgestones these days and a far superior tire from my experience. Michilins are way overpriced. I got a friend having cornering issues with some XZA3's that everyone seems to think are the best tire.
