So I talked a good 45 minutes to an hour with the recruiter, and it was quite positive. We have tentatively set a day between Christmas and New Years for a tour of the Titan facilities and trucks. I was a little disappointed that they run mostly east of the Mississippi, and teams run out west...

Here is a pic of the showgirl joint that we took this past Saturday. 20161126_095903.jpeg

...And a sign that is posted as you leave the Cornersville terminal...

Try Navajo Express; their solo drivers run coast to coast.

Navajo does not look to be hiring from Alabama. Not sure if they would consider my close proximity to Tennessee to be waived or not. They are also mostly reefer, a facet of driving I had given little or no consideration for. I will research them some more and see if there is a possible future here...

The Big Chicken truck stop? Pass it twice a day.

So, I have set up a date and time to visit Titan Transfer... December 29th! My wife and I are looking forward to it. We get to tour the shop, main offices, and a truck tour of one of the newer Freightliners! Merry Christmas to me!

tscottme, Chinatown and SHOJim Thank this.

As the date for visiting Titan Transfer gets closer, I decided to surf some more to try and read up on Titan Well, today I come across this recent scathing review of the company:

    https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Titan-Transfer/reviews

Indeed is also showing the average income for Titan Transfer drivers to be in the $38,000 range... YIKES! This very well may be a huge deciding factor for me. I hope that my visit next week goes well...

Ask Titan if solo drivers run the long runs or if only teams get those. Some companies give a solo driver a long coast to coast run, then after a few hundred miles you get a message to pass it off to a team.

When I talked on the phone to the recruiter, he said the newer equipment and long runs went to the teams first and foremost... The bonus is, I have set-up a visit with Danny Herman on the same day, up in Lebanon, TN! It is going to be a good day regardless.

I think Danny Herman trucks run 68 which is good these days.

After we meet with Titan, we are going up to the Danny Herman yard in Lebanon, TN. We will meet with a guy named EB Langford, and will video conference with "CJ" who is the recruiter I have been talking with.

68 is good... makes the driver much less of a moving road block!
