We are looking at doing a west coast run before training is over with, but for the most part, those runs are slated for teams. This past week we were offered a New Jersey to Arizona run, but we could not meet the lanes due in part to a long week coming to an end. We ended up with a NJ to middle Tenn and a short run to Ohio...

Thanks. I am officially through the halfway mark for training, 4-more weeks, and I get my own truck.

Week 5 started my semi-solo training in that every detail of driving was left up to me, while the trainer gave little to no input except to offer advice and options ect. This week was the week of mechanical breakdowns; to start, out truck batteries were dead. We needed a jump start. At our first shipper, the belt tensioner on the motor threw a belt. We waited while Titan sent out a mechanic to replace the tensioner and install new belts. We managed to get to Maryland before we had had enough of the rough riding trailer tires, the shop at the Maryland terminal replaced all 8 tires, and installed brakes on the rear tandems. Our first trip took us to Massachusetts again, and back to Middle Tennessee. From there we went to Alabama, to pick up for a delivery in Louisville, KY. From there we went back to middle Tennessee. It was Friday, pouring rain at night, and I missed my get-off at the Pelham exit on I24. My next opportunity to get turned around was 7-miles up Mont Eagle, and 7 back down... However, after missing my exit, the drivers side windshield wiper broke loose from the actuator... so Mont Eagle was done in near zero visibility. Needless to say, an interesting week to practice actual solo driving. The wiper blade was cobbled back enough to get us home, and a write up was turned in for said repair...

Next week begins with a trip to Oklahoma...

Also, I just started this thread in the CDL training forums, check it out:

Thanks, this week we start off with a trip to Oklahoma city Oklahoma! This will be a short week for me, as I have family coming in town for my daughter and niece's high school graduations. I will also be out all next week. I will resume May 28 and finish my last two weeks of training before getting my own truck.

This week was awesome! We started with a trip to Oklahoma city, and I ran 722 miles! With the back-haul, I ran 725 back to middle Tennessee. Then we set off to St Paul, MN for 730 miles... Note here, the trainers truck is governed to 70 mph. When I get my own truck, I will start at 65 mph. for a year before I get it turned up to 70. We finished the week at 3500+ miles with a trip from St Paul to Olive Branch, MS and then home. I am off next week for my daughters graduation, then I will start week 7 of 8...

That's good news. Seems like a good company.
I'll tag @Dutch Mantell maybe he'll be interested in this company.
Any info on their CDL school?

I am quite satisfied with Titan, they do not fit the stereo-typical "trucking company" if that makes sense. I have been very happy here, but note that I do not have any other comparisons.

Last I heard, three of the five spots have been filled for the first class... and that Titan has plans to pay the student to attend school, and subsequently training.

Thanks, hometime has been very good so far. Lots of family time, and even some much needed "me" time.
