Sorry I haven't posted in a couple days. Late evenings and early mornings make for long days. Anyway, yesterday (Tuesday), we did some more testing, started simulators and some straight-line backing on the yard. I was nervous about these 13spd transmissions, but I've got experience on 9's and Super 10's, and the 13's are kind of a combination of the two. The people up here are great. It's called Truckers Marine Corps. Yeah, I can see that, but I'm one those people that learns better under pressure. Part of the mystique of orientations at new companies is not knowing what kind of people you'll meet. My class is pretty diversified. There are guys here from SC, NC, IL, GA, IN, NJ, MN, WI, NE, OK, KY, and AL. We all come from different parts of the country and from different backgrounds. Trucking is our common ground and that's what has brought us together. We all get along. There's no ill feelings between us and everybody has been helping each other out. We start load securement training on Friday. I'm looking forward to it. I've never been involved in flatbedding before and I can't tell y'all how much I'm enjoying myself. I've got a fellow board member, Bandit, here with me, and I'm looking forward to having ChainDriven here this weekend. Gears, give me a shout soon. lilmstrkr, I'm enjoying the messages, girlie. Keeping me pumped up!!! Y'all be cool. Shiny side up, brothers and sisters....

Seriously, I'm REAL glad you're enjoying yourself. That makes things so much better. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that you'll succeed and do really well with this company. Just think....your name on your truck. That's pretty sweet.

Let's see, end of the week.... Finished up testing and trying to stay awake through all these videos. We started load securement training today. Tomorrow, we'll be securing and tarping different sizes and types of loads. We test on all of it on Sunday. I'm excited. The instructors here are very knowledgeable. Plain and simple, they know their ####. Life is good. Let's get this done, drivers!!! -
Thanks for the update. You mentioned more of our forum members will be joining you this weekend. How's about a class picture. (picture of your class...not a picture that shows you have class)

Any new updates? I'm hoping to be going through orientation sometime after New Years.

Cat, do my a favor and ask them when they will be selling some of their T800s. I'm in the market, and black and chrome sales appears to be fresh out. Thanks.

Yup, another update... We started out with 40 guys. Between no-shows, physical failures, and dumba**es, we're down to the final 17. Tomorrow's the final day. Holy crap, we made it. Several fellow board members are here. I'm happy to report, all members of the Trucker's Report that are here at the TMC orientation are, as of tomorrow, employees of TMC Transportation. It's a good feeling to have a job again.
