I don't know how or why this rumor of "you'll have to learn how to wash and polish your own truck at TMC" ever came about. They give you a PO once a week to go through a Blue Beacon or a few other washes and let them wash the truck. That's it. If driving in a respected fleet with high standards, and doing so in a clean truck and going through a Blue Beacon once a week makes for a bad place to work, then I don't know how to respond to that level of thought.
TMC advice needed

-
I would say probably and more then likely.
-
Probably 48/52 weekend home per year. basically, they aim to get you home every week-end but reserve the right to screw up 4 times. Owens Corning just opened again (closed after sandy) so our NJ freight just picked up drastically.fatherdirt88 Thanks this.

Is orientation hard and what is the probability that i will make it,and when i do get my own truck i take it home bob tail or with a trailer...
-
When I spoke to the TMC recruiter, they told me you would take the truck and trailer home with you.
-
Yes, you will. And 95% of the time it will be loaded while sitting at home with a Monday AM unload appointment within a few hundred miles of home. You will do a lot of load swaps on Friday or Thursdays that is mutually beneficial to both drivers. This can be a hassle sometimes, keeping your preferred tarps, starps, and other equipment that sometimes has to be exchanged out with another driver. I had a way of folding my tarps the way I liked and knew so if my load had no tarps, I made sure I kept mine and he kept his. Most drivers folded them correctly but some didn't and it's hard to know what you're going to have to deal with until it's time to deal with it.

Now can you drop the trailer at a safe yard and lock the king pin and drive the tractor to the house/if it is under certain miles....
-
No,
I mean just work hard and pay attention. the guys that get fired either really cant drive a truck, or are on drugs or cant pass their medical. If you are struggling with the driving they will give extra practice time. The physical part of lifting tarps is hard, but you only need to get through it once.
You take your truck and trailer home. You are not aloud to separate and use a kinkpin lock. Some drivers park at a nearby truck stop and drive a 4 wheeler home.
