FWIW, I seen one of those TMC boat haulers on I-135 x31 in Kansas this past week. Kinda cool how they had the boats all stacked up diagonally on the trailer.

Thank you and you are welcome. When I was employed by TMC before it was a whole different company than what I am reading nowadays. Almost immediatly, I shot up to 31%, without TQM. Even once the economy started heading south and I came off the Peterbilt Dedicated account my FM was trying to prepare me for 26% to 27% and suprised him by maintaining 29% without my 10 points for my truck. For some reason they couldn't get it to pick back up on my points. For a while I was taking what everyone was saying with a grain of salt. How could a company go downhill so quickly. But, I see they have changed their website to reflect the lower expectations and there are too many drivers posting whose word I trust. It is the ecomomy, no doubt. TMC, I think, is still a good company. By gaining a little experience with another company, I think I have a little better grasp on the industry. I am, still, a relatively new driver and still think of myself as a newbie. Hopefully, it will work out for me, as usual, I will give it my best.

Yep, TMC has changed a heck of lot, in just the short time they have employed me. These changes have not favored the drivers, and I feel fairly sure that the company is suffering a bit too, tho certainly not to the same degree that the drivers are. Sure the economy is very much to blame for this.

TMC is still a good company to start out with, but perhaps not still a good company to plan a career with, as I had once hoped for. At my well-seasoned age, decrepitude and fossil-like attitude... I find myself looking for something more than they offer. What I want is a job I can retire from in about 10-15 yrs.

Terry, you've a whole world of experience, compared to me. I respect your opinion, and have no doubt that you have a much greater grasp on the industry than I do. I'm still (a rookie) learning new things daily, and I like that. I love to learn new things, and tend to catch on very quickly.

Do you have any knowledge of the tanker industry? I think that is where my "talent" may lie. Do you have any words of wisdom/advice? I have my HazMat, TWIC & Passport.

Thanks in advance, and again, best wishes

I don't know much. Only that one of the big companies pay better, the ones with Exxon or something simular on the side. If the name is only on the trailer it won't pay as well, but will be a good entry job where you can get your tanker experiece. If you wan't to go over the road, still, try Superior, I hear they are superior!

Thanks Terry, sounds like good advice. I've heard/read good things about Superior Carriers too. Have been following the SPCR threads. All require the "all important" 2 yrs exp, which I'll have soon.

Talked to a Pilot tanker-yanker just the other day. He couldn't say anything bad about his employer; been there 5 yrs & planned to stay there until he either died, or retired... hard to get a much better recommendation.

Thanks, Carter. Have bookmarked those links for later perusal. Appreciate the tips/help.
