This is probably some thing that ALL the high post count posters here should worry about.

Well, someone has to do it. Although I don't know how the linehaul drivers at work maintain their sanity. When I did that I had at least take a different route once in a while.

I have a question about TMC. When are you considered "hired" by them?Is it when you go through orientation or what?

Reason I am asking, is they have screwed up my husbands DAC and now he can't get a job because they put down he was fired, but he never worked for them. What happen was he was accepted to go up there and went for orientation, was there two days, and they come to him saying there was some problems and they weren't going to get to keep him because there was a report he had jacknifed or something at his last company... so they sent him home and said that they couldn't hire him. Then, when he got home, a few days later, one of the recruiters called back wanting to know what all happened and for my hubby to explain it to him. Well, in the end, the recruiter said, you didn't jacknife, and ended up saying they COULD hire him. But, by that time a local company had already called him and he was working for them, so he turned it down (plus we were upset about how they did him, and wasn't sure if it would be good to go back with them anyways).

So - if they couldn't "hire" him.. how can they say he was fired on his DAC?

The big companies do not care!

You can and must dispute that "firing" with DAC. Some where around here is their contact info and you can file a dispute on that particular claim.

I worked for maverick for a year and it is a good company to start out with, that being said while i was there i was often forced into doing the strictly legal thing and not making any money or fudging on the coloring book to get the loads there...Anytime it takes a substantial part of your day to load and secure not because you are slow but because the customers take forever to load you, while you sit in the stage lot, you are going to have to run with the load just to get it there. Maverick expects the load to get there on way or another.
I have started hauling haz mat in a chemical tanker and love it. We are paid for our time waiting for loads, loading, unloading, switching trailers, and alot of other ways that flat bedding just doesnt pay. I have no problem with working long hours I just like to know I am appreciated by the people I work for enough to pay me for my time. I still work alot of hours per week like every one else but now I know I wont be giving the company several hours per day while they decide where I am going, or if I am ready to load at 700 am and the only freight is at 1030 pm i will be paid detention for waiting....not just have the company make a 1030 pm appointment to get out of paying the detention(this happens a lot at some companies because they dont pay detention if you have an appointment) I enjoyed working for Maverick it is a good company and i would tell anyone to start there, just keep your eyes open and eventually you will find a better fit like I did....who knows you could be there along time I have several friends who still are....wonderman

What do you mean the big companies do not care?

We are going to dispute it, but now was told yesterday by Transport America, that this wasn't on his DAC like Maverick said... so.. I am awaiting to get a copy of it for ourself to find out what is in fact on it. I don't know how Maverick could or would say that if it isn't on there, but Transport said his DAC looks good.... Confusing I tell ya.

The big companies do not care whose life they ruin by giving a bad DAC. They'll just call their buddies at SWIFT and get them to crank out a few more driving school rejects.
